It amazes me that so many , take "social media" , so serious.
C'mon , most of us will never meet 99.9% of those on forums and social media
I can't take it that serious when they use anonymous  names, like assfuk69 LOL

I use technology to communicate ( email, cell phone, etc) and for a little entertainment .

I don't have a facebook page and never tweet or instagram.
I post on a couple forums for my own shits and giggles.
If it starts to be tedious or annoying, I laugh at myself and move on.

When you're life depends on social media, you need to get a life.

Social media has essentially started the demise of mankind.  Companies can't even come out with a promotional campaign anymore because if someone is too tanned or too white, or they use fun language they get a bunch of pussies behind a computer that make a fuss and force them to shut down the promo.  the whole world is going to shit because lazy assholes now have a voice and can spread it to millions in a second.  For every good thing that might come out of social media 100 shitty things follow.  This world would be so much better without it.  People might actually start leaving the house and look up once in a while.

This PC stuff is terrible indeed. I am with you brah!

I was waiting in line at a popular Tex Mex joint recently during lunch hour, and looked at the long line of people ahead of me. I swear, every single person was standing in line with their head down, fixated on their phones. Every one of them. It's almost like it's become unbearably uncomfortable to be idle with one's own thoughts. The brain is seeking little pleasure rewards from devices, and people are fully absorbed in them every waking hour.

I fondly remember using the University VAX/VMS system in the computer labs in the early 90's to download naked images of the Barbi Twins (Shane and Sia Barbi) on 3-5" floppy disk.  Webcrawler was the search engine, and the face of the internet.  Only a small percentage of our class actually owned a home PC at that time, so would have to come into the school labs to do their homework assignments.   Good times

I can't remember the number of crashes (and "God dammit" phrases) when I was running Netscape on OS/2 at the local library, while searching all kinds of stuff with engines like Altavista, Lycos, Yahoo, Metacrawler or whatever. Back then Hotmail was still a great email system before Microsoft took them over.

Yup, I remember it all.  I got my first PC in 1990.  Intel 486 DX2 66, with a whopping 340MB Harddrive.  Prior to that I had an Amiga 500, which I played Leisure Suit Larry until wee hours of the morning.  Had a nice little racket going in University back in the days making bootleg copies of Microsoft Word and Corel Wordperfect and selling the software disks to fellow University students.  Yup, Hotmail became the norm later on.  Same with Geocities hosted websites.
