                 i looked it up 55 dollars for louie at the last comic con. the price of green paint keeps going up.

It's like the Car Guy or the Sports Guy.  Here we see Comic Book Guy.  People so ill at ease with themselves that they wrap up in a cartoonish identity which affords them security.  Like so many of these desperate souls, his costume is that of Baby Bird Man - cawing for attention and morsels from those around him.
