BS. Canada has a population of 35mil and roughly 500-600 murders per year. still proportionally way more than the UK. but the US has population 325mil and 15,000 murders per year. less than 10 x the canada population with more than 20 x the murders.

even if canada did have higher murder rate than US (which it doesn't) why would this change the fact that it would be ridiculous for us in the UK with low murder rate to look to the US(with much higher rate) for an example of what we should do.
