The work bouts for boxers are three minutes. So it's mainly aerobic. That's why boxers do those slow road workouts, to develop an aerobic base. Test would help with punching power which is kind of important in boxing.
However, distance running it isn't so clear as power really isn't an issue. Most of the top distance runners weigh about 125. I would see test more of value to a sprinter.
it's actually very anaerobic
my boxing coach trained me with a lot of interval type stuff
3 minutes on 1 minutes off, just like a boxing round
we sparred a few times and it went for like 7 fucking minutes straight
he's a heavyweight with 15 years experience and I had bout 3 months experience
he also used mma gloves while I used regular boxing gloves and we did 2 rounds of this and after we finished out 2 longass rondo he said to me "you are a brave guy"
very nice comp but was I brave or jjust stupid lol
