Have you guys ever tried Tito's Vodka?
« on: July 07, 2017, 07:48:00 PM »
This stuff goes down so easy it's like drinking water. None of the speech impediments or cloudy judgement that usually follow 4-5 shots of any distilled drinks (at least in my case).

Shoot, I think I can solve the Da Vinci code right now...

yup.  When your taste buds get numb from the first drink, everything tastes better.

Like when they make you drink shit wine, you know it's shit but you've just numbed your buds, then they give you another shit wine but say it's premium and you think it tastes better but truth is it's just shit but you're numb.

Funny thing is that I went to the local liquor store to get some wine and Tito's is all they had left.

Feel like the time I found out my dick was there for.

I'm thinking about making a still.  I'm not a big drinker.  It'd just be a cool project.

Very cool idea  8)

You could even put it into screw-top jars, call it 'moonshine' and distribute it at dangerously high speed in the dusty outback.  Maybe in an old school (1969?) Dodge Charger....  evading capture by the feckless local Sheriff by jumping the occasional collapsed bridge or something...

You could even do all this while only wearing cutoff denim shorts....  :D

erm.... on second thoughts --> fuggedaboudit....  :P

Makin' my wayyyyy the only way I know how,
But those shorts are more constrictive than my delicate nads will allow!  :D

It is illegal in Aus but I don't obey stupid laws.  And I certainly won't be selling any.  I sometimes see large stainless pressure vessels at machinery auctions, usually brand new.  They'd be way over the top for my needs but what the hey.  There's no kill like overkill.

Btw, in case you're inspired, methyl cooks off at a lower temp than ethyl so be sure to throw out any distillate you get below 174F if you value your eyesight.  Think I'll contrive a doublecheck to ensure what I've got is potable.

This is going to sound like an ESF story, but this one is actually true.

My friend's wife and daughter were on a flight to South America.  They were sitting in the same section as Tito.  Tito was apparently hitting on my friend's daughter the whole flight.  The only problem........ She was 14 at the time.   :-X

Fuck Tito.

Was given a shot of it 12 or 13 years ago in East Texas and was told it was a very popular spirit in that area and everyone drank it as their vodka.

Had no idea at the time it would get as big as it did though.

There once was a guy who tried selling vodka to Americans. Didn't work out. Wonder what happened to him?

ESFitness story.

I used to distill premium vodka in my home garage for personal use.  Make about 8 gallons a week.  Had a friend try some and he was impressed.  Turned out he knew someone from France who was struggling with making premium vodka.  He flew me out to France to teach them how.  First thing I had them order 1000 toilets as it's the only vessel I knew how to distill in.  In our first batch it was a hit.  They needed a catchy name so I gave them my nickname from San Quentin which was Grey Goose.  They thought it was a stupid name but I convinced them to try it.  They ended up winning the Gold Medal in tasting and the rest is history.

I'm not a hard liquor person, but I hear that if you take cheap vodka and run it through a brita filter a couple of times, you can make it taste indistinguishable from top shelf stuff.
