Matt we're still waiting on the video of these bench numbers. Surely you've recorded these lifts
Yes, good sir. Unfortunately the two heaviest videos are Facebook videos. But anyone with a Facebook account will be able to see them. All lifts here are in "gym form". Of all the contests I have competed in, they have almost entirely been strongman contests, so I tend not to train with strict contest form.
Incidentally, I will competing in the CAASA Strongman Provincials next month in the lightweight class! So under 170-lb. I'm looking forward, especially given that it is held in my city! If all goes well, I will be off to nationals after that. Here are the lifts for anyone interested:
340x2 [I would even call it 2.5, heh. It was with a 50-lb bar]:

Obviously these lifts are gym-form, although I realize I did not specify that in my earlier post on the subject.
My best lift in contest form was 310...arguably 315 though! I swear, I HATE being the first to go in the contest. The judge judged my lift the strictest, then when literally EVERYONE who came after me had bad form, he had no choice but to let it slide.
So I would argue my best contest bench was 315, and I would even go so far as to say I had 315x2 in me that day in contest form, weighing 172-b. That said, I only officially got 310, so that will have to be on record as my best contest life - with full/strict contest form.
I placed second that day in the <180-lb class. The only one to beat me was Dan Skaarup and he is honestly a pure freak bench presser. His brother Luke has been as high as, I believe, 6th in Canada's Strongest Man. The Skaarups in general are pure Danish freaks. It is no loss to come 2nd to Dan. He benched 350 with ease, weighing 180-lb on the button. Again, absolute freak bench presser, who has previously benched pressed 455-lb at 205! He, of course, beat me the next year in Thunder Bay's Strongest Man in the <200-lb class. I placed 2nd that day in my first strongman contest, and have enjoyed the sport at the "low level" ever since. As I have just had my third child, I do not wish to damage my fertility of health, so I keep it light, relatively speaking - for the sake of my joints, and my overall health.
