Begium plates Belgium plates Belgium plates. Listen, I live near Belgium.
A well maintained 87 bmw 3 series (325, e30) with 160k miles would cost about $ 10.000 - $ 15.000 around here.

I don't have a daily driver.  I  alternate vehicles during the week so this would just an extra car.  Having to rely on owning one vehicle is ridiculous because if it breaks down, you are going to be walking or catching the bus

Typical male who tries to get a car that gives him more status. What you need is a pickup truck so you can pick up things and deliver them. Lots of stuff thrown away or given away.

I own a Jeep Cherokee, dipshit.

You are incapable of listening to good advices. In Australia we have utes. Same comfort as a car but with space to carry heaps of stuff around.

No thank you.  Keep that El Camino looking piece of shit in Australia.  Besides that, you drive around in an ice cream truck with no ice cream.

My Ford Taurus is getting to the end of its life so I'm intending on going back to Whitey's in a few weeks.  However, I happened upon this 1987 BMW 325i.  Car is rough looking but I with a good detailing, color correction on the paint, and some serious scrubbing and vacuuming of the carpet, it could be a great little extra ride.  In case you guys haven't figured out, I prefer older vehicles....ones with solid steel and mechanical parts without any silly computers unless its one I put in.  However, I'm not very familiar with BMW's and I'm honestly not a fan of them as they have rear wheel drive.  However, this one I actually like and it would be good for picking up....well liberals. ;D

Old, small, unsafe, pollutes a lot, very overrated (and often overpriced) car

You can get much better for the same money

The e30 is one of the most reliable cars you can get. Especially if in manual form. Tons of parts available and super simple to work on. The m20b25 is a superb motor! Just make sure you change that timing belt!

Great post, I had 265k on mine before I sold it. Ran like a dream, just regular maintenance.

1. The repair bills will be more than the car

2. Buy from a reputable dealership that can at least give you somewhat of a warranty

I don't buy new....only used vehicles and fix them up and/or sell them.  New cars lost a huge chunk of its value the minute it leaves the lot

I didn't say buy new. i meant buy from a dealership that offers a warranty so you have recourse.

I buy and sell everything...cars, antiques, vintage computers, etc.  I've made about 6000 dollars this year so far from it.  When people sell their cars, they value it based on the condition they left it in so they screw themselves out.  An easy wash, wax, and detailing makes all the difference

Vince, where do you buy and resell these items?

Don't listen to the haters, reconditioned parts are cheap and the e30 is extremely easy to work on.

Typical Hebrew first thing you think of is how It Looks.

Better off thinking of checking compression and making sure its solid mechanically first, and worry bout how fly you'll look after you put your 22's on it and dip it in some House of Kolors Kandy Grape after.

I don't inspect cars because I'm not an auto technician which is why I take it to a garage for mechanical work which was already taken care of you fucking Gomer.  Not only that, just where the fuck did you read anything about me putting 22 inch rims on it???  You even highlighted the sentence as to what I was going to do which is detail the car and scrub and vacuum the interior....obviously your brains runs no better than a 386SX or a Coleco Adam with a broken printer.

I have read your comments and postings for the month and I've purposely ignored the moronic garbage that you spew but I have to say that you are the most pathetic pieces of amphibian shit that I have had the displeasure of stepping on.  You should go to the nearest crack house and do 2 speedballs so that we can make the planet better by you becoming fertilizer.  Fuck off.

After reading this thread, it occurs to me that all the people who say "don't do it" appear to have no direct experience with this car.

Vince is asking about a 30 year old car with a broken odometer for 1500.

1500 shouldn't ruin him if its junk but why do you think he should buy it? How much life is left in this car?

Fill in the blanks bro.

Vince you're going to buy a car that needs to be detailed? That's the first step of selling, if the car isn't clean it's safe to assume it isn't taken care of mechanically either. Your post is confusing.
