I would never lease a car because you have to pay collision insurance which negates any savings and since you don't own it, I cannot count it as an asset.  When I buy a car, I want to have the titles the very same day.  My Taurus is very reliable and I've owned it for over 12 years.  Its never left me stranded on the road and its still in great running condition and I intend to keep it.  Its just that I simply wish to have a car that's more flashier and stylish to drive around.  My Jeep is great but its meant for hauling around stuff for activities I do such as estate buys and table displays at flea markets.  Most importantly, I simply don't like the new cars out there right now....they are very bland and have no style or soul.  They have a lot of nice things...computers, heated seats, navigation systems, etc but I simply don't feel anything for them.  They remind me of the book, 1984 if that tells you something.  For me to buy a Camry or an Accord would mean to "blend in" and that's just not me at this point in my life.  

Trust me...  the repair bill on that BMW will negate any savings you have.   It isn't worth it.

Obviously Goodrum can't afford a new German car but if he did he would be amazed at the technology and so would his mates. Even Japanese and Korean cars have plenty
of high tech such as shutting off while stationary to save gas. Btw, what about insurance and rego when you buy a car? Rego in Australia is quite expensive. So owning two
cars is quite an expensive thing to do. Goodrum has figured out everything before he posted so isn't looking for any genuine advices here.

I used to work teaching plus do the gym every night for a decade. I figured since I was working so hard I deserved a prestige car. I always
wanted a Porsche when I was in university. So I eventually got one or two. Then I thought if I didn't have this car I wouldn't have to work so long and hard!

Owned a lettuce filled up around San Jose or some shit and a housing developer decided they wanted the land to build some housing and is a couple hundred thousand dollar investment in the lettuce business turn into about 12-15mil. I forget. After that it was all Investments and reading race horses. Instead of wasting his money on crap because he could afford it.
