I think it's possible, yes, because it happens regularly.

BTW: Do you have any idea of what his wealth may be?

I wasn't aware it happened "regularly" at this level of law enforcement

I don't recall you posting anything to support that claim of both "regularity" and with this type of investigation

Please post that info

Alrighty, after looking a bit at Manafort, yes I'd be inclined to think he's been up to no good.

Once again, if you're trying to defend the idea that searches aren't questionable, then you lose.

And once again, I'm not talking about all searches everywhere by all levels of LE

I'm talking about the specific search of Manaforts home (note it was only one of his homes)

No, I'm nearer to your side about believing it's most likely real and valid and right.

But what about those critical posts of yours, mentioned earlier?  Can you at least recall any?  Serious question.

My conclusion that Mueller and his team are smart enough to get a valid search warrant has nothing to do with whether I think Manafort has been up to no good

You don't debate.  You regurgitate talking points and run away and/or make some juvenile unfunny comment when pressed to support the absurd things you repeat.

Well now, we'll see who was right when it's over.  ;)

The fact you wouldn't link the two things is quite interesting.

Considering how strongly I doubt they exist in the first place, it would be pretty silly for me to look.

But it's all right, Straw.  You're OK in my book.

whether I believe Mannafort is guilty of a crime or not is irrelevant to my belief about Mueller capabilities.
I'm assuming Mueller is smart enough not to torpedo his own case by lying to a judge about the reason (probable cause) for a search warrant.

If you don't even know what posts you're referring to then how can you expect me to know?
Even if you just want to paraphrase (rather than finding them) that's fine
I just have no idea which posts (or the content) that you're talking about

To begin with, it wouldn't even necessarily indicate a lie was told.  It may be that sufficient information wasn't given or sought.

So when you say this:

Quote
My conclusion that Mueller and his team are smart enough to get a valid search warrant has nothing to do with whether I think Manafort has been up to no good

So, since Mueller did in fact do that: Does it have any impact at all on your impression of Manafort's activities as to whether he's guilty of something?

Lol, you know exactly what I mean and you're now playing dumb instead of dealing with it.

No, Straw.  I meant it when I said you're OK.  We agree on most political things, I'm sure.  So I'm not the guy to pick on you, and I regret bringing it up.

I'm not aware of Muellers lie in his request for a search warrant

I would definitely like to know more about that

THEN ...we go on with this thread . ;)

My typo and despite what Dos Equis thinks, I suck at typing.
I can tolerate it on a lap top, but I'm slow and find it  tedious.
Texting is a no go for me due to my fat fingers.

I know this is the way we interact on a forum , but I prefer talking.
Oh well, it's fun and I aim to keep it that way.

I'm just kidding around, Howard.  And 'then' often treads into 'than' territory, anyway.

You should look at an "oversized" keyboard.  It'll plug right into PC or laptop.  They're great for big hands.

Another thing you'd probably like is talk-to-type.  Beats typing, unless you're already set in the ways of typing and too used to it to change.

no worries man

at least you can debate something without devolving into name calling and personal attacks

that's rare for this board

I actually ordered  a lap top with slightly bigger keys and that's what I use now.
It helps some but thanks for the idea.

Ok, as for the OP thread topic, I think the Russia thing is getting serious for team Trump.
Mueller has assembled an all star legal team , especially for global financial crimes and money laundering .

Years ago, Trump made a sweetheart deal on tax breaks to buy/refurbish the NYC Commodore hotel.
He promised profit sharing % to pay the city instead of the typical taxes.
Trump tried to short NYC on their agreed share and ended up selling his interest in the hotel.
Later, NYC successfully sued the new owners to collect.

During the campaign, a law suit was filed about his infamous Trump University.
He settled for a reported 25 million.

Trump was very offended that Mueller was investigating his personal financial dealings.
Based on what I know, he should be worried .

...to be continued. ;)

Special counsel's Russia probe loses top FBI investigator

One of the FBI's top investigators, tapped by special counsel Robert Mueller just weeks ago to help lead the probe of Russian meddling in last year's presidential election, has left Mueller’s team, sources tell ABC News.

The recent departure of FBI veteran Peter Strzok is the first known hitch in a secretive probe that by all public accounts is charging full-steam ahead. Just last week, news surfaced that Mueller's team had executed a search warrant at the Virginia home of Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort. And the week before that ABC News confirmed Mueller is now using a federal grand jury in Washington, D.C., to collect documents and other evidence.
