There is nothing inherent in islam that makes the women cave, it is some of the machismo it represents. I watched with my own eyes on one blog, where a guy made a suggestion and apologized for his ignorance. And guess what? The women then attacked him and told him that he needed to take XYZ classes. He showed weakness, and they lit into him.
