Maybe he just needs to make better pizza. I've never eaten at a Pappa Johns. Not once.

How would you know the pizza needs to be better then?

And you live by the sword you die by the sword.

Diversification.

He should be blaming himself not the NFL or Trump.

And you think that's the only marketing they do? It's apart of their campaigns, not all of it. lol

Little bit of a stretch when your stock price drops dramatically to put the blame on the NFL. Have his shareholders bought his argument?

Because enough ppl say it's crap and I know they don't use quality ingredients like a "mom and pop" place. Thus, I have enough evidence to strongly assume they are not making award winning pizza and my money will best be used elsewhere.

The company has dropped 6%. Not good but not exactly a disaster. I just don't know how the NFL will be able to regain trust of the fans and get out of this hole.

I hear two sports radio dipshits today attacking Papa Johns hard.  They were acting outraged and saying that Papa Johns is full of shit and that NFL has nothing to do with why PJs sales are down big on Sundays.

They make their living taking about black guys running around on a field chasing a ball so I think it was some kind of misdirection.  Trying to protect their meal ticket.  Either that, or they are totally clueless.

I wish I knew who they were so I could troll the shit out of them.  Dick-less loser cucks.

Peyton "Nutsack HGH abusing liar" Manning owns over 20+ Papa Johns franchises in the Denver area, so he's more than just a hired spoke person.
But I never tried the stuff.
There's a couple of great brick oven and wood fired pizza places around here, I go to them, plus they have good beers on tap.

I dont think the 6% will hurt Papa John, maybe he'll need to cut back on his pool water or something...

Maybe it depends on area but as far as the big chains go (Pizza Hut, dominoes, etc.) they are top two around here. Not as good as smaller locally owned pizza places but generally cheaper with coupons/sales. If they don't have sales their prices are outrageous in comparison to the better tasting small town places.

Even if Papa John’s is scapegoating the NFL, Roger Goodell and league should be alarmed

Wednesday was really bad for Goodell because even the happy-go-lucky pizza guy – Mr. Papa John’s himself – publicly turned on the NFL. And he did it with all his stockholders and the larger financial community listening. In an earnings call for investors that would send a cannon ball through the wood panels of every NFL ownership office.

“The NFL has hurt us by not resolving the current [protest] debacle to the players’ and owners’ satisfaction,” said John Schnatter, the Papa John’s CEO who famously appears on the company’s litany of game-day advertisements. “NFL leadership has hurt Papa John’s shareholders. … Leadership starts at the top, and this is an example of poor leadership.”

That banging you hear right now isn’t the shots fired by a pizza chain synonymous with the NFL brand. It’s the sound of ownership groups collectively falling out of their plush leather chairs.

The NFL has hurt us …

If he is losing this much money because of the NFL, then clearly he is not diversifying in the way he advertises. I know PJ's advertises through other means, but it doesn't seem like other pizza chains are taking a hit (Pizza Hut, Little Caesars, Dominoes).

"This year the ratings are going backwards because of the controversy,” Schnatter, who donated $1,000 to Trump’s campaign, said, “and so the controversy is polarizing the customer, polarizing the country.”

When a country is in a state of polarization, they don't eat pizza!!!

Schnatter is a typical Republican crybaby, always trying to blame others for his own failure

Frozen pizza company DiGiorno is trolling him on Twitter and Pizza Hut just posted it's fifth consecutive quarter of positive same-store sales growth

Info which supports his statement regarding Papa Johns close ties to the NFL. Sometimes I wonder about people on here always missing the point.

Its interesting that one person (Colin Kapernick) basically took down the whole NFL (sort of). I mean, he kneels a few times and look what has happened.

only about 20 players were kneeling when Trump decided to chime in

I think it went up to ~ 250 the week after that

Certain people.

Papa Johns is tied in deep with the NFL when it comes to marketing.  They are experiencing reduced sales........on Sunday.......what a coincidence.

Their Pizza tastes fine.  It's a medium quality pizza and it's priced as such.  We have high quality pizzas where I live but they are considerably more expensive.
