Yep. Most active atlantic hurricane season on record followed by possible record low temps. Nothing to see here.

Yes of course since the data has been being kept for 167 years, and the earth is what 4.5 billion years old. So .000000003% of earths weather history is concrete evidence. Looks to be about as accurate as the polls people post all the time.

This is impossible.  I've been assured that the world is about to burst into flames any minute.

Ignore the real measured temperatures and instead put your faith in the computer models.

Now lets regulate the hell out of everything and steal more of people money with taxes.

With all possible modesty, most posting here are clueless when it comes to the science of "atmospheric physics" and climatology.
I'm far from a world class expert, but at least , I have basic grounding on the science and math used.

Most of you make sweeping assertions that have no basis in science .
It's like arguing about getting a 4th strike in baseball or playing the 12th man in football.

I don't want to come off sounding pompous or superior.
I'm sincerely sorry if I do, BUT, some of your posts on this are truly laughable.

If you want to debate the science on this fine.
I have no desire to get in a politically charged pissing contest.

What like in the 70's science claimed we were headed for the next ice age, then it told us nope its global warming, oh wait now we will call it climate change, Now that is laughable. Lets call it climate change, since we are aware that the climate has been in a constant state of change since the planet has existed

In my OPINION the real problem is the extreme views on BOTH sides.

The environmental warriors take a preservationists aka "humans are bad " view on climate change.
The climate change deniers act like humans didn't do anything wrong.

A few, small consistently enforced changes would make a HUGE difference in climate stability.
Simply raising the mpg 15-20% would work wonders.

I don't think anyone needs to have a degree in science to discuss the issue of climate change.
All you need to do, is state what you think and LISTEN to those who have reasonable ideas.
I apologize if I came off as the "pomous academic asshole"  Grin

Causation ≠ Correlation

Bingo!

A causal relationship is the holy grail of scientific research.
This is why it took several years and lots of people to prove smoking was bad.

Here's what we know for a fact on climate change:

1. CO2 levels drastically rose during the last 120 years due to the industrial age.
2. The overall global temps, especially at the poles as risen, compared to the trends in the past 10,000 years*.
* Polar ice core samples are tested for % of oxygen isotopes. This allows us to determine the avg temp of centuries  going back
10,000 years.
3. The level of temp change is a near perfect, linear regression line fit when both sets of data are plotted
( CO2 levels vs global temp avg).
That's damn good causal data/conclusion in my experience.
