Apparently they were not too impressed lol.
http://www.nationnews.com/nationnews/news/102062/ohBodybuilding’s big boss Phil Heath showed up on Saturday night at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre with 270 pounds,
but not bulging muscle. Heath won admiration all last week with his speeches, high-fives and hugs, but fell down in the primary role of his visit, the guest posing display, that was billed as the show-stopper of the tenth instalment of the Darcy Beckles Invitational Classic.
When the lights were dimmed at 10:12 p.m., there was a hush in the audience that included former Cabinet Minister Jerome Walcott and ex-Barbados bodybuilding champion Roger Sealy, as the 37-year-old Heath glided on stage.
The fans saw full pecs, round huge shoulders and his titanic thighs,
but those expecting a truck load of muscle only got a teaspoon full.It was a let-down after all the hype as fans were surely expecting much more from one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, a man who has owned the Mr Olympia, the ultimate jewel in the pro ranks, the last seven years.
The colossus of Colorado, said he was delighted to be here in Barbados.
“I have travelled all over the world and this is surely one of my most memorable experiences. The people and the hospitality have been great. I would like to come back here in 2019 when I break the Olympia record with a ninth win,” he said.
Heath was baby smooth, but the other guest poser, world-class Women’s Physique pro Antoinette Downie, was dry, hard and polished. This was the first time that Downie was guest posing at a major show before hometown fans and she could feel pleased with her exhibition which came in the first half of the near six-hour programme.
“I feel great. I always wanted to do this. This means a lot to me,” said Downie, who has had eight top ten placings in the International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB) pro ranks.
