I love how you know the difference between a
midget little person and a dwarf. There is a difference, and you explained it perfectly. Little Women: Terra's Little Family covered this, as the woman [Terra] was a little person, but the husband Joe Gnoffo was a dwarf. She had achondroplasia, while he had pseudo-achondroplasia. There was a possibility that the baby was going to be born with both mutations. Joe definitely did not want that, and I'm glad they didn't try to pretend that it would be "beautiful" for that to occur.

Who the f*ck wants their children to inherit their genetic flaws? I was almost in tears initially when I found out that my son inherited my autism...but...then I gave it some thought and realized that it has been more of an advantage to me in my life. Sometimes we only look at the negative, but upon giving it a more balance and nuanced look, I realized that there are many benefits to being mildly autistic, to the point where I was basically just taking it for granted.
I do not really see any benefit in dwarfism though, regardless of type, and Terra's daughter has the type that isn't so bad. They have since had a son, and I am not sure if he has only his dad's type, or has both...or quite possibly, neither.
I felt sorry for Joe in this show. I would not want to be that height. Not to mention, he had been through many surgeries too. It just seemed like a life that I would not want - and that most people would not want. He couldn't even stand up during his wedding ceremony, and since he skipped the rehearsal, he didn't know what to do.

It was kind of sad/pathetic.
I bought the shows from Google Play. Maybe I will go check out some more episodes, as your post reminded me. Another similar show is, of course, Little People, Big World. It basically tries to humanize little people, and I have learned a lot about little people in the process.
I wonder if little people will be the next "oppressed" group that gets special privileges as a result. In any case, I enjoyed watching the episodes, and learning things about little people.
After reading your post, I think I will actually go check out those episodes again soon. Maybe Sunday.

Thanks NelsonMuntz.
