And again not sure why you’re not understanding...

You are assuming the NY rep was referring to rich donors, THAT IS BULLSHIT b/c rich people in NY will pay more as a result of not being able to deduct their state and local taxes.

Understand now? You’re saying that a NY Rep had “rich” donors contact him to tell him to get it done...getting it done means they pay more...

nope, still don't understand WTF you're talking about

here are the quotes

Quote
Quote
“My donors are basically saying, ‘Get it done or don’t ever call me again,’” Rep. Chris Collins (R-N.Y.), himself a millionaire, said on Tuesday.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told reporters on Thursday that a failure to pass tax reform would fracture the Republican Party and lead to more far-right wing primary challengers. “The financial contributions will stop,” he added

we're not talking about wealthy people (and all people) not being able to deduct SALT

we're talking about the uber rich who fund politicians who WILL SAVE MILLIONS in taxes

what they lose in SALT deductions they will more than make up for in the other changes (not sure why you can't get this through skull)

These people (think Adelson, Koch Brother, ets) who make political contributions in the TENS OF MILLIONS to 100 MILLION +

Do you really think uber rich donors are insisting that politicians give them an increase in taxes?  Do you think they are saying if you don't raise my net tax bill I'm not giving you any more money?   That seems to be what you believe

These are the guys who will benefit the most from this legislation

Not sure why you can't understand this

They are saying to the establishment Repubs - give us a tax break or you're not getting any more of our money (and the money will go to Bannon backed nutbags instead who will give us the tax break that we paid for with our millions of dollars in contributions)

Isn't there a 46% tax bracket they are creating for the "rich"? Or is this about the corporate tax rate?

You'd better listen to Straw; he majored in finance.

He's also smart enough not to do his own taxes

you don't have know anything about finance to understand this legislation

you just have to not be a moron

btw - if I had a simple job like you working for the state, paid on a W2, no business expenses, no capital gains/losses, no business assets to depreciate, etc.. then I could certainly do my own taxes

Even given all that I  could actually do my own taxes but why would I bother when I can pay a small fee to someone to do it who is more qualified than me?

Also, my CPA gives me numerous referrals every year

That's how things works when you're not trading your life away by the hour as a W2 wage slave

Doesn't it irk you that elected officials have been paying off (settling with) people who have possibly been sexually harassed by these politicians with tax payer dollars? It really gripes me!
