GO4, Some of these GetBiggers may be interested in your 'man overboard drills' and would really enjoy seeing some photos of the lava during its flow into the sea while cruising by the Big Island at night.
Have you ever had a real man-overboard situation during one of your cruises?
Does your ship have a casino yet? What's the price of a Martini now a days and have they stopped that two day cruise down to Fanning Island which used to be a requirement for the Hawaii islands weekly cruise for some forgotten reason?
And do you have to pay rent ashore when you are hardly ever there to use it?
And what is the going monthly rate for a one or a two bedroom apartment in a decent location on Oahu now a days?
Been there and done all that ... so it would be interesting to hear the updates and some GetBiggers may like to know how expensive it is to reside in Paradise before they pack up and move over thar.
Hey Stunt, we have drill once a week and simulate an emergency situation, usually a fire. Each crew member has a special job in an emergency situation, mostly assembling passengers into there emergency stations, I'm actually a volunteer fire fighter on the ship, I had to go through special training for this. Man over board = Code Oscar, I've never experienced one before, but we do have a protocol in line if a crew member witnesses a man over board situation.
The lava just began flowing again recently, the volcano was active, but was dormant for a few years, some weeks are better than others when we sail by it.
In terms of living cost on Oahu, not exactly sure, because we all live on the ship, the lower 4 decks are all dorm style living for crew, however management gets their own cabin.
