he's a hypocrite for joining a team he called cheaters, and he's petty too because he knows that's the only way to get back at the only team that gave him a chance in the league for having the "audacity" to play a younger and better player over him in TJ Watt

You can't argue with the results Brady has been getting. Guy is performing phenomenally and at the top of his game. You don't see guys his age doing that in the NFL. He's doing something right.

Do you think other quarterbacks would improve their performance by following his approach?

This is a chicken-egg situation.  One possibility is Brady's successful because of some gimmicky diet or workout.  Another possibility (much more likely, if you ask me) is that he's a generational talent who would be pretty successful regardless of whether he follows a traditional or non-traditional diet/fitness program.

My two cents, anyway.

Because they are.

However, the evidence is there.  Rational people not blinded by fandom ask real questions: if what happened, happened, and their first three SB win were all close games, isn't is possible all the stuff they did, and were busted for, might have had an impact?

Couple that with the Tuck rule, deflategate, playing in a division that has sucked for 15 straight years, is it wrong to possibly be not as enamored as those in NE are?   From what we've seen with EVERYTHING, all those put on a pedestal get taken down - Jordan, Armstrong, Bonds........etc.....why would the Pats be immune, when they're surrounded by the same stuff?

Deflategate literally meant nothing. They statistically played better without the balls deflated it actually hindered them. I understand that it's in the principal of just not doing it. I can get behind that. But to act like their success would be any less different is delusional. The same catch made last week that was ruled not fair, was the same type of catch that happened to Dez Bryant long before that and was called back.

The refs are not cheating for the Patriots.

Trainers and those people ONLY have to do with whether a player stays healthy or not or heals properly. Has nothing to do with performance and skill. Brady would be great regardless. His body works for Alex's methods and likes them. So he uses them.

I didn't think deflategate had any impact, but was handled the way it was due to the Pats past and history of cheating, coupled with the way they behaved when the investigation played out - brady destroying phone, etc....

Given that, the Pats did have a system to deflate the footballs.

If they just admitted it they may have gotten fined and moved on.

Call me a prisoner of the moment, but as much as I wish Jimmy G success with the 49ers, I'm starting to wonder if we just mortgaged the future of the Patriots.... :-X

I know that it would have been insane to have two quarterbacks making huge money, but Brady better play for a few more years to make the trade worth it

Edit: All of this discussion is moot if Brady wins another Superbowl this year. Jimmy was worth more then a 2nd rounder though  :-\

It really was a no win situation for the Patriots. Brady is such an anomaly, that Kraft probably believes that he can be a top tier quarterback for 5 more years. In that case, then they easily made the right choice.

I am just glad to see the kid doing well.

It's too hard to bail now. Where the patriots have a great chance to win it all this year. Can't change everything that they're doing 8 games into the season. Someone had to go. Jimmy G might not even end up being great. He's played a few good games. Far from great though.

Patriots will be okay. Whoever is in their system should be decent.

Money talks

he's not getting a pay raise, the only thing he's getting is possible more playing time and "revenge" against the only team that gave him a chance when he was an undrafted free agent

We fucked up by giving Jimmy away. Bob Kraft would never trade  Brady so they had to get rid of Jimmy. The owner chose loyalty over business in this case. I wish we could have kept Jimmy.
