Your flat bench to incline ratio?
« on: January 19, 2018, 11:46:18 PM »
shouldnt a guy with a 385  incline be capable of a 500lb bench? Why do I suck at flat bench? I use a closer grip because I’m afraid  of a pec year. Bodyweight is 215 at about 6’0 so maybe I’m too light is my guess. Other than gaining weight what can I do to get my bench up? I go for the health look these days since I’m a personal trainer and I train rich Beverly Hills people That know fuck all about fitness I gotta be marketable and the super juiced up look isn’t what I want

My incline is 315 for 4 but my flat bench is only 315 for 6.

Many people I know can incline and flat similar type of weight

I can almost overhead press 300 pounds son... I have the delts of a 500 lb bencher. My triceps don’t respond to shit...I’ve tried everything for years.  Just can’t get them to pop...they don’t respond to anything.

This.

You should be able to incline press around 80-90% of your flat press.

What's your max bench Flint? Around 450lb?

Work on improving your arch

Higher arch=less distance bar has to travel=bigger bench

Every injury I've ever had have been from machines.

About the same for me, maybe 20%.

I recently switched to the Smith machine for the inclines, pretty decent results.

My incline is roughly 82-85% of my flat, my close grip usually equals my incline , give or take a few lbs.
