I've been running 2-3 miles BEFORE weights for like 9 months now .. best thing I've ever done for my physique. I've never stayed this lean before without severely restricting my diet. Now I'm eating plenty of rice, fruit, beans, etc and probably staying around 9-10%. I'm natty too
Strength took a little hit but who cares .. I'm just going for the health look
If you to want push the envelope strength wise, waiting a few hours between cardio and weights will let you recover. These days I’ve been doing what you do. It’s nice to get it all done in one shot.
Been doing a lot of treadmill running lately as the winter in the Northeast has been pretty fucking brutal.
Typical easy run is about 40 to 45 minutes, start with walking, work up to about 8 mph and hold it for a while. Work it back down to walking, essentially a bodybuilding pyramid routine but with running.
Usually do one speed day a week 5x800m at 9mph and a few 200s at 10mph. Also do a 90 minute long run on the weekend at about 7.5mph.
