I call those people the "Christ  haters" - they CANNOT RESIST the opportunity to pour mocking and hatred on Christians. They are all over the internet like a plague.  I don't think they are all athiests, for example a lot of them are Jews. And many of these same "Christ hater" types would be quick to defend Islam.

To be fair, some Christians bring this upon themselves. If Muslims were legislating their religious beliefs, knocking on our doors on Saturdays and discriminating against people I'm sure they would be getting beat up as well. I'm referring to the US.

And back to the original premise of "Some atheist/Agnostics bite back at Christians because they often bring it on themselves by legislating their religion into laws, forcing their religion on them at government meetings, sporting events and various other venues outside of church. If Christians just lived their life as they were supposed to and not infringe on others with their personal religious beliefs, they wouldn't get so much blowback "
