Mormons are not Christians.  They're not even christians.  It's a cult and while it can be argued that a cult is nothing more than a religion without political power, they are a fucking cult.  Joseph Smith was a fucking pervert. Same with Brigham Young.  Typical liars after the pussy and they didn't care where they got it from.  Theirs is a doctrine of fucktards.

Trust me on this.  They do not now nor have they ever followed the Nazarene.

Trust me on this, 95% of those who claim to be Christian and even attend church on Sunday.. don't actually follow Jesus nor his teachings in their everyday life.

Cedar Park and Leander Tx. LDS in white shirts and black ties on bikes. About once a month... could have been 6 weeks on occasion but often enough the people on my cul de sac would comment on which one of us was so bad it kept them coming back

and in before "they're not Christians"

https://www.lds.org/new-era/1998/05/are-mormons-christians?lang=eng

OK, so now we've gone from "at least once a month" to four to six weeks.

My friend, I do not believe you are being intellectually honest. No one, including yourself, thought of Mormons when you made your original claim. Whether one regards Mormons as Christians or not they are not the mainstream Christians of Judeo/Christian roots. No one bemoans the disproportionate influence that Mormons have on our culture which is negligible.

I live on the Windward side of Oahu where Laiea is located which is Mormon country. They own a good portion of the property in that city and is home base for the LDS. I constantly see Mormons in the dress pants, white dress shirts and tie, biking and walking in the hot Hawaii climate. Though I do not subscribe to their theology I am a big fan of Mormons as they are exceptionally well behaved and decent people. While most of their peers are getting drunk, high and trying to get laid while wasting their parent's money these young men are out there on their missions practicing and promoting what they believe in.
I am far less concerned about what a person believes than how they behave and I always greet them with a "Hello Elders" whenever I encounter them and don't mind having a brief discussion with them. I am more interested in them as a person than they're religion and try to get info on their background.

The LDS are an extraordinarily successful organization and a lot of thought and planning goes into how they run their affairs. Yes, part of their mission of the Elders is to convert as many as possible so it does not comport with common sense that they would keep going to the same area over and over again. It would be a waste of time.

I've seen your userid pop up from time to time but haven't really payed close enough attention to determine your worldview and politics though "agnostic" was a good hint. But now, as is usually the case with leftist, you betray yourself. In a debate and/or discussion, people on the Left are far less concerned with clarity, truth and what works in real life. They are primarily concerned with promoting their agenda. It's happening  now with the renewed efforts to ban "assault weapons" something that was already done for ten years and deemed insignificant. But facts and real world results don't matter. Only what makes you feel better and make you think you are doing something significant.

Your anti-religion bias is crystal clear and you will make up, actually lie, just to promote your agenda.

No one is knocking on your door.

I already know that many who claim the Nazarene do so in name only.  I have no real idea as to the percentage but I seriously  doubt it is anywhere near 95%.  Christ himself spoke on this in the Word.

I'm basing that simply on my experience with Christians. There are many here that say they are Christian but don't act like it. There is only hate in their posts. The bible says you will know them by their fruit. If someone is hateful, antagonistic, closedminded, very good chance they will be standing at the gate thinking "What the fuck?" The road is narrow.. Matthew 25 the parable of the sheep and the goats is a good read for those wondering if they will be accepted.

To be fair, Christianity we know today is loosely based on Christ

Who gets to decide who is or isn't a Christian?  Hell most Christian churches don't even contain Christians.

Many in this thread who talk a lot about Christianity appear to know nothing about it. Probably post a lot on Facebook about not judging, etc....
Pretty standard in today's world.

There is a general world wide consensus as to what is a Christian Group and what is a CULT.

I am applying that consensus.

Personally, I also think the American style "born again" groups are all cults too.

Christianity is a cult in itself.  It relies on blind faith, unquestioning obedience, absence of free thought, and forced indoctrination in order to recruit members and survive.

By definition, you're absolutely correct.
You're incorrect on points2-4, or you're basing these ideas on false Christian organizations.

The term itself is controversial and it has divergent definitions in both popular culture and academia and it also has been an ongoing source of contention among scholars across several fields of study.
