And wasn’t there gossip that he really died from AIDS?

He didn't look like an AIDS patient on Raw?

Warrior was one-of-a-kind.

All the shittalk from his peers is pure jealousy.

The dude took the wrestling world by storm and made a lot of the other guys look like pathetic slobs. He’d run to the ring and just dominate with charisma and intensity.

Even his entrance music kicked ass.

I thought of him, but was unsure if he actually had competed before.  I was trying to name ones that competed in BBing and won a show.

He competed at least once in the early 1980's (at least that's when I remember seeing him in the magazines)

I think it was either a USA or the Nationals

After Warrior more of these bodybuilding bodies came to wrestling.

Although Hulk did have a great physique even earlier.

But likes as Dave Boy Smith and the Warlord come to mind.

Texas Tornado was always a poor mans Warrior to me 🙂
Even Curt Hennig would've been labeled bodybuilder in the early 80's.

I grew up on Plano and Lewisville Texas and this guy was the king of North Texas Wrestling at that time (early 1980's)

I saw a few of his brothers around town (Denton and Lewisville)

He was looking jacked in his last go around with WWE.  Wonder why none of his other brothers had the same genetics.

Love how he states he doesn’t train heavy and then a bit later in the interview says he’d behind-the-neck press 315 for 10.

Yeah, not heavy.  ::)

I always preferred him earlier in his wrestling days (and when he first entered the WWF) when he was fuller and heavier.

He looked SO powerful and intimidating.

I have a match from that time period in which he just about breaks his opponent in two with a clothesline. The man wasn’t known to be too gentle. In part, likely due to his relative inexperience. His being so explosive and intense played a part, too, I’m sure.

were you ever at Monster Gym when those WWF guys showed up to train there in the nineties?

I was surprised at how some guys were more of an illusion size wise while some guys, like Undertaker and Brian Adams(Crush/Smash), and the road warriors were absolutely in either size and/or height

Biggest guys I sw with the whole package (mass Height, cuts etc) was Paul Orndorff at the Mintreal Forum when I was 15-16. he was just standing there watching the matches while eating chinese food out of a takeout box his massive arms and physique just buting out of a gold polo type shirt he was wearing

I remember long ago the WWE came through the gym that I was a member of in GA.  Believe it or not the whole package (as you put it) out of all of them in person was Paul Roma.  That dude had arms and a chest that was vascular beyond belief.  Weird thing was he was never that jacked up on tv.  All he did was light weight pumping sets the whole time too.

Saw Sid Vicious at a bar once and he was a monster in person.  Nothing but shoulders and traps towering above everyone.

Warrior was wise. Strange concepts but wide.
Never liked his physique however , no density , all drugs imo.

If you look at Hulkamania vs the Ultimate Warrior's philosophy/following, Ultimate Warrior was more intense, deeper, and less fluff. And I feel it was "real" and memorable.

My memory has come back, it wasn’t AIDS it was HIV.  I read somewhere at the time of his death that he had been previously kicked out of the WWE for testing positive for HIV.  The WWE couldn’t have any wrestlers with HIV due to the risk of blood exchange.

Wonder how he got it.  If this is true.

I was a big fan when I was a kid, and even back then I remember the big rumor was he did G4P. Think it started in the Enquirer. My brother used to give me shit about it all the time.
