Women have absolutely changed in the last 30-40 years.

And even men have to an extent.
Different world we live in now that in the 80's.

Lol, what about grand/parents.  :P Once you are over 25 that is. If you are younger than that, you should listen, but won't. If you are older, you shouldn't, as your grand/parents are most likely living in an outdated world, compared to yours. Advice like driving a truck will always bring food to the table is unfortunately wrong. Just ask Waymo, the better Uber.

LOL!

Anyone under 30. They don't have the life experience and most of them seem clueless, even most of the intelligent ones. My ex girlfriend  included, she's now 25 and despite an  IQ that is quite high- we met in a doctoral program with two of the three highest GPA's, she has no idea about the world, none.

Why is this so common, do you think? Several people I know personally who have high IQ's are totally lacking in commonsense.

What you don't realize is that secretly, your parents think you're an idiot.

My kids are wiser than I am.

I think it depends on the Grandparent. If they were knuckleheads at 30, 40 and 50 they are going to be senile knuckleheads at 70. I've gotten great advice from older people that payed off. But they were sharp anyways. You combine sharp with experience, you get wisdom

Here's the thing, we learn from our experiences regardless of whether they are good one's or not. It helps to maintain an open mind. Once you believe you know it all, you stop learning. One thing I know almost for certain is that change is inevitable.

-Sort of makes sense. On the other hand, some people only see the glass as half empty.

old people know about people, people don't change....

Anyone thinking old people cant teach you anything about life need to take another look.

they may not know how to set up an IPhone but they can tell you if someone is full of shit or not...

A psychologist once told me that whatever a person is they get more so as time goes on. Scary thought, huh?

again, as someone pointed out to me.. not that accurate. Who is the number one victim of IRS scams and Construction scams? The elderly.

-Explains why I get several scam phone calls everyday. It's rare that I answer the phone unless I know who they are. Whoever calls me can leave a message after the phone rings twice. My email is littered with scams that are so ridiculously stupid, I cannot imagine how anyone can be that gullible.

I would even posit that while some people certainly don't change in their lifetime, many do. I know I have changed from when I was younger. I know some people that I went to school with who were absolute jerks, that I have reunited with later in life to find they are some of the nicest people. And I have had the opposite happen. But in general, I think it is a safe bet that if someone screwed you over once, it is likely they will do it again.

I know for a fact that I am healthier, fitter and more successful than some people I went to school with who seemed to have it all back in the day.

Does that mean that they don't DEFEND PEDOPHILES LIKE THEIR WARPED, DELUSIONAL, SICK OLD MAN?

I concur. Prime, could you do me a favor? It seems there are some fine people on this board that have been trying to negate any point you have by bringing up their claim that you defend pedophiles. I have seen the threads and I get why you aren't responding to their taunts. But can you just put it to rest so that going forward, when you post something, and you post some pretty good things, someone doesn't try to discredit it with the "Yeah, but he supports pedophiles" response...
