Its apparently a grey area. At 17 he is technically a kid. But yeah, he has entered a political arena that is traditionally adults and risks all the adult like morons who do the usual "He's a crisis actor" and "He wasn't even there " or "He's really 25 years old"... but he was at the school and had friends gunned down, and so there is a risk to attacking him as a public talk show host.. she took the risk and it backfired this time.

What I have noticed when listening to her is that she is very cutting and nasty. What her mistake was, as far as the advertisers are concerned, was directing that attitude at a minor, and I doubt they will be back any time soon.
