from who? Will there be a few holding signs saying that? sure. but the vast majority of Americans want better gun regulations and want to keep the right to own handguns. So where do you see this next step coming from?

All you people peddling the nonsense that we need to ban "assault weapons."  If you were really concerned about "gun violence," you would be targeting the weapons used in most crimes and mass murders.  The only reason you're not is it would be too unpopular.  Only Justice Stevens and a handful of others are honest enough to state the real objective:  repeal of the Second Amendment.

Whatever.  Go ahead and call for a ban on "assault weapons," instead of the handguns that actually kill the overwhelming majority of people.  We know what the real intent is.

I would call a ban on handguns if that's what I wanted to ban. I don't

We wouldn't have any of these discussions if we'd just ban Murder!

I get that you don't agree with it. But it does make sense. I can live with it either way. If nothing changes, I'll probably be fine.

No it doesn't at all actually.  It's like someone trying address deaths caused by driving under the influence by targeting people who drive while under the influence of heroin (which likely causes comparatively few deaths), but not alcohol (which causes the majority of deaths).

I think we've reached that point where we are just spinning wheels.

same argument as the cars.. they provide a necessary service.
You're full of fucking shit. Nobody NEEDS a handgun or a car for that matter. Neither are necessary, both kill more people than rifles.

What you are advocating makes no sense.
Liberal train of thought, just makes no sense but they'll shout about it until they're blue in the face.

It's not a real hard concept to grasp, but I will explain it again. There are things in life we just have to put up with because it's the cost of doing business. Deaths from car crashes, etc. But there is NO reason to own an AR15 that weighs heavily against the use of them in shootings. So get rid of them, reduce the killings.

To be fair, though, you admitted in another thread that it's not possible.

Like the tech giants blocking or banning people from social media because they don't like their politics?

The military uses an M-16 which is the same thing with the auto select not an option. So nah.. don't think I will stop saying that.

Think using a Lambo kit on a Volvo chassis: you’ll look cool but never win a race.

This is the AR-15 vs. an actual assault rifle.

Just stop it.

And shouting down Betsy DeVos, censoring Charles Murray and having him leave with a police escort.

True, what is out there is out there. eventually they will be expensive and not so easily accessible like weapons that have been banned or strictly regulated in the past

Looking around for a list of banned guns, because (honestly) I don't know and it's interesting.  But I noticed information on other countries who have banned guns (Australia, for one) only to find their crime rates went through the roof.  I suppose that's consistent with the CDC-ordered study showing guns are used defensively way more than we've been led to believe.
