exactly. the syrian regime is doing very well (with russian aid) clawing back the remaining rebel held regions. it makes absolutely no sense for them to do the one ting that will bring the western war mongers into the fray.

the yanks can't stand it that assad is putting the country back together.

Because it's a proxy war.  The West has been arming ISIS and other radicals as proxies to try overthrow Assad in efforts to take over Syria.  Propogating these false flag events is to justify direct intervention for this objective.  However, Russia stepped in their way and they don't like it.  The West has been largely pretending to fight ISIS, all while funding and arming them.  NATO curiously couldn't make a dent in ISIS, but as soon as Russia stepped in, ISIS started taking a beating.
