It certainly could cause a dvt. They are likely are aware of his risk because the same Dr did his bicep. Heparin was likely used to reduce this risk during surgery but sounds to me like this happened after (and he doesn't look off in that last video).

He is now on thinners.

Either Coumadin or Xarelto is my guess.

Well, the bright side is that he will get a constant triceps workout while on the crutches. Look for his triceps being more pronounced in the future.

Actually it's hard to say because it is not uncommon post surgery. Usually DVT's occurs in older patients so could certainly act as a contributory factor.

It really depends how much. He's had blood work and if his hematocrit was elevated they would encourage him to stop what he is doing.

Being on thinners he likely has a home INR tester to check prothrombin times (clotting time). He will also have diet restrictions.
