Not talking clothing, classes, etc. And also excluding cost of gym and drugs (if you use them). Mainly talking supplements and diet. However, this is getbig so respond anyway you like. Ignore the topic title if you want.

If you are actively working out and dieting to achieve/maintain a bodybuilder/fitness type physique, how much do you drop on supps and diet? When I say diet, I mean approx $$$ ofc and stuff that you probably wouldnt buy if your primary concern wasn't gainzzz.

Buy extra meat eggs coffee. Forget everything else except perhaps a hydrolysed weigh.

Incorrect. Getting 'weigh"  through shakes is the far superior option.

Most supps/vitamins I can give or take, but when it comes to food supplementation, don't get this parrot act that "real food" is better. Is it like deadlifts, where it's better because it just IS, regardless of evidence or critical thought?

Assuming your protein powder contains what it says on the package (which is overwhelmingly likely), it's less expensive per gram of protein than just about anything else, it's the absolute easiest way to get such a large amount of protein without other macronutrients that you may not want, it's easy to prepare, it's easy to consume (as opposed to "real food", which can become an offputting chore depending on your diet), etc.

250 to 300mg of test works 10 times better than any shitty supplement ever to exist and costs 6-8 quid a month.

Most people would consider rx test a drug, but is 250/mg a month a dose that would get and keep most guys in shape? No other supps or diet adjustments required?

My mistake I meant to say 250 to 300 a week, yes I’d choose this over every over supplement or combination of supplements. Its not going to put a great deal of muscle or strength on but will be fuller, feel better and more motivation , recover from training better ect

If you have your choice between a protein shake and a grilled chicken breasts, which would you choose?

If  I had my choice of consuming 100g of protein daily (which is on the lower end for most guys trying to put on or maintain substantial muscle), would I rather do it by consuming that amount in chicken breasts daily or protein shakes? Bearing in mind ALL of the things I said in the post you quoted, in addition to the fact that meat generally tastes worse the better the macronutrient breakdown, I kinda feel like I already gave my answer. Maybe I am misunderstanding what you mean, but when you are eating for gains, eating becomes a chore. Protein shakes greatly alleviate that.

At least he actually referenced a monetary amount. Most people who have responded  seemed to confuse "how much do you spend on supps" with "please list random items."

Yeah, that wasn't obvious sarcasm at all in regards to posters on a forum that rarely stays on topic.  ::)

This being a troll thread didn't seem to stop you from wanting to make post so much in it.  I guess you were just giving the thread a pity bump.  ::)

Okay, I may have not gotten your gist. I know or I understand someone needing 300 -500 grams a day that shakes are absolutely needed. But when I am trying to lose body fat I find drinking shakes don't take care of the hunger issues.. chicken breast or lean meat does. but yes, again if you are eating enormous amounts of protein shakes have to come into play
