just watched episode 2, i think it's entertaining but now i see daniel's pretty white girl daughter is dating an asian kid and the asian kid is a bully?

that's even more unrealistic than the adults daniel and johnny grew up to be, but like i said it's interesting so i'll do the youtube red free trial to watch the rest

E

It all comes together - watch the rest

Earl calm down and give it a watch. It's more than a reboot. It's kinda like Kevin making a come back but without having to step on stage.  ;D

You're the author of this video?  This is probably a bit of a spoiler, but fuck it.  At the end of the 10th episode, they're at Miyagi's old house (the green one behind the old train tracks that Daniel-San did work on for his training).  Has that house remained there since the filming of the movies, or was it demolished afterward, and the production rebuilt it for this series (assuming it's publicly accessible and not on a studio lot)?  It'd be interesting to hear from a local.

Normally I don't watch modern day movies and TV series given most of them are crap (especially re-boots of old series and movies), but I'm a fan of the movie franchise, so the nostalgia hooked me in.  While I was skeptical, I have to say this is actually pretty good overall.  While there is a bit of PC/SJW/Diversity shit in there, the Johnny character counteracts a lot of it with how anti-pc he is in this, and I think it's pretty refreshing to see that in this day and age (especially from a straight white man, no less); I legitimately laughed out loud at some of the lines he had in this.  I also like how this series has him as the central character and focuses more on his story and why he's the way he is, and you get to empathise with him as opposed to just seeing him as "the bad guy" like you did in the movies.  While you could see where the plot was going as you were watching it, there is a bit of depth to most of the characters and the relationships to one another, and I think the writing deserves some credit for that.  The last 5 minutes of the last episode has set up possibly another season.  Time will tell.

The house was built on a barren lot in the 80's for the movie in Canoga Park. It was tore down after filming. Present day, the lot is now filled with a Neighborhood that was built soon after the first movie. They rebuilt the house for all sequels including the new web series. I will visit the actual location next week and upload the vid for you to check out.

LOL I love your moxie...essentially you admit to getting the free youtube red trial just to watch the whole season for free then cancel the youtube red so you dont have to pay, only to then go around your neighbourhood taking video of the different places the KK and CK were shot so you can capitalize4 on the new show and nostalgia of the old to attract viewers and subscribers to YOUR youtube channel so youtube can pay you money

Ordered whole thing..this is REALLY well written. Thoght it was some gimmick like Grudge Match and Daniel doing the crane kick...without spoilers this shit is profound.

This ia about fatherhood, family, masculinity and values in this fast, technological world

Masculinity has completely diaappeared...Over the loud speaker at school they give mantras about tolerance and NEVER hurting anyones feeling despite sexuality or gender. They encourage the students that for their Halloween Costumes..they include new roles..they say "Kids..instead of going as a male doctor...try going as a gender neutral hospital woker!"  Meanwhile the bullying at the school is out of control.

Most kidz have absentee fathers...as men they see nothing they can contribute to this passive type of development...Women and homosexuals will teach feeling and sensitivity better than those old straight men teaching them politically incorrect things like standing up to bullies. The emmasculated boys at lunch when thinking of what superpowers they would want against a bully..they decide invisibility and super speed so they can hide or run away from conflict. One boy says super strength and is ridicules because he'd have to fight with that superpower.

Johnny is a dinosaur in this world..an old version of masculinity...abandoned his son too..but now brings an attitude and aggressive masculinity to this emmasculated teen world Roles reversed from original..its a real examination into what kind of future men AND women do we want to raise and what does masculinity mean in this new world? Alao a ton of really funny, witty insights into technology

Parenting and monitoring when yourkid knows 1000 times more than you about digital technology

Bullying...cyber bullying....timely..poig nant..Much much more than nostalgia/ cheap remake.

Well said. I loved the entire thing, but after the last episode I worry that ultimately they're going to send the message that Johnny's version of masculinity is not the way and creates monsters.

Oh and yeah the Asian kid being the cool popular one that all the girls like?? LOL ok. When I was growing up, the Asian kids were well liked at best or just the weird nerds at worst. Maybe things have changed since Anime and pokemon is so popular, I dont know.

Exactly. Thought for a second this might be the great timely, conservative message of "come back strong american dads...we miss you"...but yes ..it looks as if predictibally it will digress into political correctness as strong, hetero men will somehow show their cruelty and oppressiive nature until they are "righted" by political correctness. Shame.

The Johnny "Sweep the leg Johnny!" Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso-feud is Timeless and represents two sides and aspects of man.

Back in the 80's, LaRussos were needed, but in today's society, more Johnnys are needed.

This is much better than a Levrone comeback. Both Johnny and Daniel still have their legs.

Calm down Earl, it's a great series, just follow it chronologically, episode 3 after 2, then 4 after 3 etc.
