Saw an interesting movie about indians and their land. Called "Hostiles" with Christian Bale.
The movie could have delved more into the relationship between the Cheyenne and Comanche, as well more from the escorted Cheyenne Chief and his family. More dialogue instead of stoic silence, and staring into campfires.

Two civilizations fought.

One civilization was the victor and the other civilization was the loser.

It happens.

Indians are not indigenous...It was a wave of migration from Eurasia across the then crossable land at the Berng straight...the Vikings were also exploring Nortn America long before English or Spanish

Bottom line

It was a very unexplored, virgin country..White settlers did the best job of settling an creating a country including brutal westward expansion where families died and/or were attacked by indians...Tne Lewis and Clarke expedition...California settlements..the gold rush..homesteading..Amer icams worked tne hardest to settle and hard work won.

Indians had little unity..fractured tribes that were very violent with each other and others ...despite the politically correct vision of these poor, peace pipe smoking, calm environmentalists who were ambushed by the evil white man

North America was up for grabs...from all directions including Indians that crossed from Eurasia..hence the STRONG resemblance especially in the eyes of Native Americans and asians.

I agree.

I love my children too much to ever have them.

This world stinks. The human race is a cesspool of garbage.

I do marvel at the goodness of some and the amazing artistic and technological creations of which humans are responsible, but I also recognize the overwhelming number that is devoid of decency, humility and honour.

We’re too weak and prone to addictions and corruption.

In short, our shit overpowers our awesomeness.

And it’ll only get worse as the majority of births are now from uneducated and pathetic parents and/or religious fruitcakes who’ve long since lost sanity and dominion over their minds.

When I’m worm food, that’ll be it for my specific bloodline.

And I’m happy about this.

(And to those who’d make jokes, I absolutely do not think it’s remotely important to have kids to “carry on my name”. My family name is only important to me, and I realize, outside of my family, it’s completely expendable. No one gives a rat’s ass. Just like no one gives a toss about yours.)

The future belongs to chaos, suffering and horror.

Until I croak, in my head it’s just 1984.

Great post myself I'm one step away I have told my kids, i don't want grandkids, told them that marriage isn't what it used to be, things evolve so have relationships, you don't need a wife husband or family, if you have one your choice, but i don't want to baby sit, you are my children and i have no interest in grandchildren in anyway including financially. As i have already had my kids I will assist them financially, but not to much, I have been poor and I have been fortuante, wealth and money bring its own set of problem as does poverty, A house a job and a balanced life is a good one, again if you want above this go for it.
I to am happy with my name going with them, the world is a shitehole, rich poor religious non religous, we have evolved to far, much like bodybuilding, the best years of humanity are behind us.

Really, they do? Man,  needs to be broadcast!
Really this is like "duh".
North American Indigeous were taller than Euros, and taller than Indigeous of the area that is mid-to Southern Mexico and down into South America. They are/were shorter, squatter bodied.

No, I mentioned various migrations including Vikings, English of course and the Bering Straight. This are examples I used that there reallybweren't one native people indigenous to the land.

Humility is the first step to wisdom. You have no humility, you scoff at what you consider posts too primitive for your advanced education and knowledge.

Knowledge is like wealth, there is always someone that makes you look broke and uneducated

So making fun of others knowledge or intellect makes YIU look like the idiot. Like the douche worth less than 3 million that teases "broke losers".....

Where is your phd degree in anthropology from o wise getbigger?

Wisdom doesn't always come from intellect. One doesn't have to be smart to be wise.
A wise person could see, that I was being facetious, and that what you had mentioned is fairly knowledge---just watch NatGeo, Discovery, or read Smithsonian mags or, um Wikipedia.

Now wer the Vikings considered migrants or just explorers? Was there any true Viking "migration"? Not just a few settlements here and there?

The wisdom part really comes in, is the fact you shouldn't take most posts here seriously.

Actually I said wisdom comes from humility..not intellect...Accepting how little you know opens the mind to new information....Carl Sagan was a brilliant Astronomer and to the day he died stressed how little he really knew about the Universe...you can't preach truth and learn truth at the same time.....

virgin country? unexplored?...holy negationism batman!

pre european invasion there was a native population between 50-100 million . native americans had been present for 10,000 + years . hence them being referred to as "native".

gunpowder, germ warfare and mass genocide is what made the europeans such "great" settlers.

what next? there wasn't really any slavery. there was just slightly reluctant volunteers ?

Come on, try to at least think logically. Some assertions you seem to be making are patently ludicrous, and I am sure you can recognise them as such.

- 50-100 million inhabitants? So up to 30% of current populalion levels? In an age where towns of 100,000 people are considered small? You cannot in good faith claim having teepee towns of 20,000+ tents were the norm back then. The local resource depletion would have been as disastrous as it is now or worse.

- Also, anyone claiming dozens of millions of indians were eradicated is an idiot. That would be claiming more indians died than jews and others in the holocaust and holodomor combined. Where are the literally thousands of mass graves each containing thousands of skeletons each?

- Virgin country? Parts of the US are still not even settled this very day. Explored, yes. But not settled. It is silly to imply that 400 years ago, with a much smaller population, more area was settled than is now.

- Unexplored? See above.

Were the Europeans nice people one and all? No. Were the indians? No. Yes, an indian scalp was worth money eventually. But where did the settlers get the idea of scalping from?

Westerners were just better armed, more cohesive, and used their brains. They deserved to win, being clearly more fit.

50-100 million is the general consensus for the populations of the americas pre columbus.

way, way ,way more native americans perished during the american holocaust than jews during the nazi holocaust and the soviet holomodor combined

The 50 to 100 million hypothesis includes all native populations in North, Central and South America.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Population_history_of_indigenous_peoples_of_the_Americas

"While it is difficult to determine exactly how many Natives lived in North America before Columbus, estimates range from a low of 2.1 million to 7 million people to a high of 18 million."

They were weak and deserved to lose, that’s just how it is

Look at the Japanese, they were the Asian oppressors, would have done the same to any other race including their own

And there wasn’t 100 million native Indians 😂

Scalping has been around in the Old World (where the Euor settlers came from) and the New World (Native Indigeous population)
