Ok, so you were saying regardless of the act, you are against capital punishment. I don't agree but I can accept that many people share that opinion just as many people believe abortion under any circumstance is wrong. Me personally, I am on the other side of that spectrum... If a person is clearly a predator, has proven they can't be allowed into society because there is a good chance they will continue to prey on people, I say put them down. Too many people in this world as it is, why keep a known predator around. I also get that not everyone agrees with that. they have this feeling everyone deserves to live.... I have seen enough predators and the damage they cause up close and personal I would have no problem putting a child molester down. I would sleep well at night.
Logically, I agree with you. Emotionally when considering their victims, I agree with you. Morally, I will never agree with capital punishment. As an example, had someone molested my kids when they were still kids and I saw that person crossing the street, I'd run them over. My late wife, who was Catholic felt the same way. A contemporary raped our daughter at a party when she was fifteen and he got away with it. One time my wife saw him while driving to the store. It took everything she had to keep her from running him down. The damage he did to our daughter emotionally still affects her more then 30 years later.
Any kind of child abuse is an abomination. Unfortunately, it happens all the time with parents intentionally starving their children, beating them, emotionally abusing them and so on.
The jury is still out on the issue of abortion. I try to understand the arguments from either side of it. Abortion is a tough one.
