Bourdain, just another Jew confirming the "antisemitic" stereotypes about them. Hatred of whites. Fuck him.

A disgusting person, animal hater and drug addict.

Said that vegetarians should committ suicide.

Fuck him now.

I don't see what his contribution to society was whatsoever.
Food and experience it brings---friends, family, new people, culture. People bond over food, and he showed that. You share a common bond with people when sit down and eat with them.

Elvis?   He was okay.  Very popular but then so are Meth and other stupid pastimes.

Picasso?  A talentless fucktard of a  "painter".

Jerry Rice?  Football = FTN.

Jesus?  One of, if not the wisest man ever.

I have my druthers and others have theirs.  In the grand scheme of things, it's all a scheme.

Most Expensive Painting. All it took was a little over 8 minutes to set the record price for a piece of art sold at auction. On May 4, Christie's sold Pablo Picasso's Nude, Green Leaves and Bust, a painting created in the span of a single day in 1932, for $106.5 million dollars.

It just goes to show that not all fucktards are standing in the middle of an intersection holding a sign claiming to be a down on their luck veterans.  IOW, beauty is in the eye of the beholder but crap will still sell to those that are presumptuous, classless, morons.  Don't believe me?

cRap "music" sells.

There are far more talented artists than there are farteests the likes of Picasso but snobs and morons often determine what's "valued".  Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.   ;D

Picasso painted nothing but a bunch of higgy-hoo.  If I asked a third grader to paint me a barn animal, you would get Picasso. (probably better)

Those asians painting nails in the ghetto have more talent than that homo.

"Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno de los Remedios Crispín Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruíz y Picasso (1881-1973) of Spain was the most prolific of all professional painters in a career which lasted 75 years. It has been estimated that Picasso produced about 13,500 paintings and designs, 100,000 prints and engravings, 34,000 book illustrations and 300 sculptures and ceramics. His oeuvre has been valued at £500 million (US$788millon). Picasso was a masterfully erratic pioneer with a hand in every art movement of the century." Guinness World of Records.

Apparently a lot folks disagree with you or they actually like higgy-hoo, whatever the heck higgy-hoo means.

Lets just summarize... you are saying Picasso was a fuctard... now  if I was 10, I might agree with you. I have been to many museums, seen Van Gogh's Starry Starry Night in person, and to someone who doesn't know Picasso's history, his ability to create or recreate a landscape to the minute detail, his talent might be lost on them.  All the uninformed see is an abstract that they think they themselves could recreate. I was like you about 20 or 30 years ago but over time I grew to appreciate the classic painters, visited their works and when some no name says Picasso was a fucktard, I just laugh.. because they have no idea what they are talking about.

I agree with you.

A few might be able to recreate Picasso's art, but they don't have the imagination to create it....big, big difference.

I don't get it. As you wrote 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' People have different likes and dislikes in just about everything. If you don't like rap and some artist's work, etc., that's your privilege. It's not okay dis others just because they see things differently than you do. What I don't get, is that you appear to think it is.

Wonder how much the very early Picassos, done in traditional academic style ,go for,if they get on the market.

All of these were apparently done when he was around 12-15 years old.  Guess collectors must pay for the name....

True. Often art that sells at auction for ridiculous amount of money is bought as an investment. Really pricey, privately owned works of art are often kept in storage and not hung on the wall in someone's home.

Ever been to the Louvre? When my wife and I were there a huge crowd of people filled the gallery where the Mona Lisa is hung. Apparently, that is the norm. How da Vinci's masterpiece found it's way to the Louvre is very interesting to read about. http://becomingitalianwordbyword.typepad.com/monalisabook/2016/03/how-did-the-mona-lisa-end-up-in-france.html   Currently, tickets to the Louvre run around $15. In 2012 about 8.8 million people visited the Louvre. No doubt the Mona Lisa attracts many of those visitors making wads of money for the museum.

Back to Anthony Bourdain, the OP's topic. Unlike apparently some of you, I didn't know him personally. So I won't speculate on why he committed suicide or what kind of person he was in his private life.

Anything I know about his is based on his public image and from what his friends and co-workers are saying, which is that he was well-liked, intelligent, hardworking, genuine and spoke his mind, etc. These are qualities I like in a person. Although not a committed viewer, I watched some episodes of his various shows over the last 13 years, which I thought were interesting, informative and enjoyable.

Reruns will go on for a long time. His shows were unique and probably can never be recreated. Darn, I was really starting to get into Parts Unknown.

It seems quite the thing for some people, who couldn't hold a candle to others, to think it's edgy to bash what are considered masters of their art. They think it somehow makes them cool. It really just shows their ignorance.

What are your qualifications? Sounds like a high school drummer slamming Bonham or Neil Peart for being overrated drummers.... They look just as silly doing that...It's Picasso... one of THE masters. That you don't understand or get it is fine.. that you call it shit is ridiculous.

Your line of reasoning is that of the fly.  If you like shit, then everyone should like shit.  One of "THE masters"?  Pffft!

Somebody call this baby a Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaambulanc e.  Look, if you need me for verification of what you hold true then you are one  sad sack of cells.

You remind me of the Pharisees of the Nazarene's time.  They whined about the Christ's qualifications via education (read familiar, ace?).  "We are learned men!  This man is the son of a carpenter!!!  Blah, blah, blah, blah"...

Like I told you.  We are not going to be friends.  This is not going to end in anyone's favor.  State what you hold true and stick to it and I shall do likewise.  I could give a fuck if you like cubism or not.  I despise it.  I find it retarded and for all intents and purposes steeped in either alcohol or drugs.  Or both.  It looks for all the world (save elitists such as you strain to appear as) like the work of an inbred mongoloid.

I bet you think Nieman is the shit too.  His stuff looks like Walt Disney vomited on canvas or even more apropos, like something SF1900 worked up in between sucking on mananas.  Pedestrian.  Base.  Common.  Plebian.  Crap.

A typist.  Whatever.  I'm not here to change the diaper that is your mind.  I am certain you will find more than a few here that will agree with you on art, literature and music to name but three pursuits that you are doubtless a  master of.  Have fun.

The last thing I would expect of you is to change your thinking about pretty much anything.

Dis? Yes really. It is slang and lot's of people use this term today. It pretty much means the same thing as the verb dish. It is defined in Webster's Dictionary.
