Lets pretend this current dilemma exists with "Getbigger X:"

Getbigger X is a multimillionaire. Getbigger X has a girlfriend. Getbiggers X's girlfriend also has a sister who has a boyfriend. Sister's boyfriend does not make a lot of money.

Getbigger X is going out for Fathers day with the following people:

Girlfriend
Sister
Sister's boyfriend
Girlfriends mother and father

Getbigger X, the multimillionaire, wants to pay for the whole Father's Day Dinner (even though Getbigger's X girlfriend wants to pay for it, but Getbigger X will not allow this). However, Getbigger X is hesitant to pay for the meal in front of everyone, in an effort to avoiding making the sister's boyfriend feel bad, who cannot afford to "chip in" for the meal.

What should Getbigger X do? Have the girlfriend pay for it, then give her the money on the side?

Excuse yourself after dinner before desert, out of vision from the group pull the waiter aside and take care of the tab. Then it will be a surprise, let the group pitch in for the tip.

Good idea, although, any way Getbigger X goes about it, the sister's boyfriend will inevitably know that I paid, but at least it will not be in front of him.

Pay in front of him and talk loudly and be a dick about it. It's not your fault the guys a fucking deadbeat. He should feel bad about being broke. It's the only way he will change and be able to provide.

So SF1900, you are a multi-millionaire. If so be like Trump and pay in front of all while telling the sister's BF how small his hands are. Then, you whip out a "MAGA" hat and hail Master Trump for making this meal a reality. No other way for a true GetBigger to do this.

Therefore, sister's boyfriend should have extra cash since he obviously didn't have to buy a Fathers' Day gift.

This, or pay for it, and give them a cordial "Don't worry, you guys can get the next one" like it's not a big deal.

I'm guessing you don't see them enough for it to be an issue, and if it is, fuck it, you were being a nice guy.
