One of the more interesting rumors was that BP visited a certain Mr. Olympia back in the day, and jacked his roid stash, and was banned from the California scene for a number of years because of it. Later they made up, and this Mr. O would sometimes write in, and praise the mag. Never could figure out if it was sour grapes, but a lot of MM2K guys swore it was true.

Phillips also ran through most of the hotter fitness girls too.

Thing is, supplements are just sticking a label on a box for material some company produces to sell to anyone interested. Not one supplement company makes their own whey, creatine,...

Take whey for example, how many companies put origin of whey on the label? If it says something like Optipep, then it is from Carrbery Ireland and you know what it is. But then they add different compounds to "enhance" the whey which is not really needed, just filler.


A concentrate from milk that can be from China or who knows from where, no thanks...

Bills doing a voice over talking about "I dunno... It just doesn't do it for me anymore" while in the audience of a bbing show, distancing himself from the "hardcore" bodybuilding scene/Market & moving toward the "attainable" avg physique guys/girls... Same thing when they dropped the "2k" from MM2K & moved away from the steroid talk. Blechman also jumped on the anti-steroid bandwagon with"All Natural Muscular Development" & turned their backs on "hardcore" bbing & pushed "little" Ron Coleman the same way EAS pushed Danny Hester.

Then shows bill at golds Venice taking to Roland where Roland says something about he wants to be a movie star and bills reply is "...and you think 'xxxxx' is gonna do that for you?" Or something to that effect.

I recall that scene as I'd watched that vhs dozens of times. When they were advertising free copies of that VHS, I actually called EAS Or MM, whoever it was,& asked if I could have a couple dozen copies or however many I got, & sold them in h.s. for $10-20 each lol. By the time I graduated & moved out I still had a box of at least 10 left that I couldn't sell & just tossed'em in the trash.

The end of an era in supplement company brands...

Effective Tuesday, June 26, 2018, Abbott made the decision to close the EAS business, which includes discontinuing all products marketed under the EAS brand, including EAS. EAS AdvantEdge and EAS Myoplex.  All products marketed under the EAS brand will no longer be produced.

In October 2004, Abbott bought EAS for $ 320 million dollars. EAS was founded by Bill Phillips way back in 1990. 

Abbott has managed to screw up a lot of product lines by changing "recipes" in an effort to reduce cost.

They had two: Phosphagen (creatine monohydrate) and Phosphagain (milk and egg protein with creatine mixed in it).

Phosphagain was marketed as the first "low calorie mass gainer, back in the early-mid 90s when weight gainers were popular and pushing the calorie envelope (Mega Mass 2000, Gainers Fuel 2500, Perfect Weight Gain 1100, etc).

You were supposed to load with it, like regular creatine. But, it cost a fortune.

They later made Phosphagen HP (creatine with dextrose). I told my story of when I used it earlier in this thread.

Was just reading about Phillips and Connelly (Met-Rx) today. Used to like early MM2K (pre-internet) w/ Duchaine, TC Louma, Dr. X, etc.

Bill really cashed in when he sold EAS...

TC Louma was one annoying prick.  Arrogance without substance is the worst kind.  This dude was a preening overbearing cuck.

And that guy that Bill supposed to be having a hand in turning pro... the Stoney Grimes or whoever it was, never made a dent.
