My first rap experience was hearing RAPPER's DELIGHT by the Hill Street Gang (I think I got their name right) followed by CHEROKEE, both of which I still enjoy today.

Someone told me that they were the first rappers! Any truth to that.

I know nothing about any rapper's lifestyle but I do enjoy the lyrics in most of Emenen's stuff especially the one where the car gets sunk with someone in the trunk.

I call it 'stuff' because I find it difficult to consider rap "stuff' to be 'music'.

Fuck cRappers and their "music".  Anyone that thinks that shit is "music" ain't thinking.  They're probably barely sentient.  FTN.

"Rap" is nothing new...here's a little rap ditty from Art Carney, from circa 1954.  It's a form of performance art, like poetry, or something...but it's not 'music' per se, as you pointed out.  And rappers aren't musicians.  Unless it's the Beastie Boys.

Is that one where Carney makes lite of "beat poetry".  Beatniks and their poetry sucked.  Exempli gratia..."Little dog in the pet store window, there is no one waiting or wanting to buy you and take you home...Only death..."

Deep shit indeed.  Beatniks are not quite the plague on civilization that cRappers have been.  I wouldn't reference anything as "Performance Art" as that crap is the excrement of creatures like Yoko Ono.  Anything worthy of the term "art" should never be referenced with "Performance Art".

Fuck cRappers.

LOL agreed.  Of course "art" is a subjective thing.  But I also think rap is utter sonic excrement.  It literally makes people stupid(er).  And Yoko Ono's only 'talent' as such was in crossing every conceivable line of good taste and shocking her audience.  Any retard lacking impulse control and a even modicum of artistic sensibility can do that (as many rappers have proven).  Oh and she broke up the Beatles.  So she had two talents.

As far as a recent individual artist I would go with Jack White:

It's shit and shit is shit.

how can you call these lyrics shit?

"I like big butts and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung, want to pull up tough
'Cause you notice that butt was stuffed
Deep in the jeans she's wearing
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring"

Take the rap part out and all his songs are still danceable grooves...take the music out and just have the rap? Very hard to listen to regardless of the lyrics....because his part is not music....

Someone must like these rapper guys enough to help them pay their home mortgage. But I hear that most of them pay full price, cash on the spot!

Here are some of the homes in which they reside ....

I believe those three homes belong to Vince Goodrum, Vince Basile, and Johnny Falcon.

Read an article about 8 years ago that the props in the vids are fake. The houses are rentals as well as the vehicles leases. Now I am not saying there not are some really rich rappers... Jayz is legit for money, but you can't believe all the hype.
