My 'kids' are adults who can make their own decisions about higher education. My son achieved his BA in his 40's and the other is just now starting college after being a stay at home wife and mother for the last 21 years.

There are mentally unhinged folks everywhere, not just at university. Has anyone done a poll tallying republican and democrat educators? Students are not held hostage. Higher education and where to get it is a choice.

Some salaries in higher education are inflated and when these overpaid employees retire their pensions can bankrupt PERS. Robert Bellotti https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Bellotti a U of O football coach has the 3rd highest annual Oregon PERS benefit @ $559,000.

Sorry about the lecturing. I am aware that I sometimes come off that way....my lame excuse is my advanced age. Although, I readily admit I still have much to learn. My job with a school district in buildings and maintenance as a supervisor was my second career for 30 years.

False premise, as I never said that. I simply pointed out colleges are bastions of anti-Americanism and have a flawed and deeply anachronistic tenure track system that needs scrapping in favor of merit-based employment. So, let's wipe that off the table immediately since it never occurred.
