So, you want to place limits on free speech because it offends you?  ??? ???

That doesn't sound like you actually want to live in a free country.

He just wants a blanket and "safe space"....

What's interesting, is that Colin will likely earn more money off of his kneeling compared to him playing football.

Kind of like how Jordan made more money off of Nike than he ever did playing basketball.

Companies like Nike produce wealthy people.

With that in mind, the last Nike shoe I owned, I was about 17 years old.

Always preferred Adidas. I think most Nike apparel is hideously ugly.

Best basketball shoes I over owned.

I was at a store the other day and overheard a husband yell at his wife "I thought you weren't buying Nike anymore" . and she yells back "I'm just looking at the new styles".  Fucking white people are too silly.

Yep, they are. White people never stick to any protest movement for long because they don't care enough to.

Look, nobody said Nike was going down in flames because they supported this ridiculous marketing campaign or the failed football player/pseudo populist half-breed they chose as the face of their new ads. The responses to his tweet of that motivational poster at the front of the thread were brutal; even liberals tore him a new one for his moral posturing and selling out for a quick buck.

But there's no doubt that the brand's prestige has taken a hit with at least a decent chunk of the U.S. population. Whether that translates into a drop in stock value or revenue can be doubted. But I know I'll never wear Nikes again.

Nope not typical at all, its a very new trend, for companies to lick ass of one odd social media group (anti-american / anti-white cucks) since they are the masses these days.
Hope it works out for them.

Nike as a company is now worth $6B more since the Kaepernick ad came out:

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/colin-kaepernick-nike-6-billion-man/

Here's what I don't get about the stock market.  If their profit was $100 on average per pair of shoes they would have had to re-shoe 1/6th of the country to make $6b.  But none of the $6b came from selling shoes. Every traded company keeps pretending like they're in business to sell their product even tho they make like a thousand times more money selling stocks than selling their product.  No one ever points out how upside down this is.  The DJIA is a barometer of investor willingness to believe in the continuance of this fairy tale fantasy that everyone is playing along with.  It blows my mind that this system hasn't cracked in half and sunk to the bottom of the ocean by now.

Clearly, I know nothing about the stock market.

The fact Walmart and Exxon make more profit than Amazon yet Amazon's stock is worth both of them combined?

Seems like there's nothing keeping things afloat other than people's confidence in other people's confidence in other people's confidence etc.  You're just betting that the next guy will think the guy after him will want to buy it too so he's going to buy it from you.  Buy what?  Shit's so abstracted they might as well be trading sea shells.

There's nothing fucking there!  It's a market of nothing and if it fails then, like, we all have to resort to cannibalism.

The stock prices of these companies are based on expectations of future revenue streams.  The valuations are absurd.

It's a game of hot potato.

Don't get caught holding the potato when the time runs out.

It's actually very typical.  Unless you can list some republican boycotts that actually worked....

My mistake was not shorting the stock when Conker started puffing up.

It has been about a month since the last earnings report for Nike (NKE - Free Report)   . Shares have lost about 13.8% in that time frame, underperforming the S&P 500

It’s not about an Ameritrade account. Risk is massive when taking short positions. Much easier ways to make money

There is risk on either side of the market. Stocks tend to go down faster than they go up. So, you can make the case that there’s more risk on the long side.

Amazon is set to open down 10% today. Look at the chart and see how fast it went from 1600 to 2000 and then back down from 2000 and 1600.

Of course, the argument against short selling is that there is no limit to how much a stock and go up, but in the case of a huge mature company like Nike is it really going to double or triple in a short period of time?
