Last Saturday (Connor fight day) I loaded my Hero 7 ..... with the battery and the "card" which will be holding my photos and videos ... down to the Strip to try it out and here are some personal initial thoughts about that amazing little camera.
First .... that little card was no bigger than my smallest finger-nail and I was thinking that there is no way that little card will be able to hold the photos/videos that I planned to shoot.
And since all GoPro hero cameras are exceptionally small and could be lost or mis-placed easily after a couple of drinks in more than a couple of casinos, I looked for the box of old Hero camera supplies that are provided with every Hero purchase .... and I managed to find a bright yellow, 6 inch hand-grip that would allow any GoPro camera to float to the surface (if it was attached) if you happened to drop it while surfing, water-skiing or using it during any under or over aqua activity.
So with that little black camera attached to that long, bright, yellow hand-grip ...... my first stop was at the WYNN where I took my first 'footage' inside the casino only to discover that once I pushed the button to turn it on, I had to make some choices as shown on the camera's little touch screen.
Those choices appeared on that little screen in a very small format, but I dId manage to see what appeared to represent a video camera and upon touching that ... a small red light was apparently letting me know that a video shot was underway.
So I did my Spealberg impression and started shooting.
But since I never did read any instructions, I had no idea what button I had to push to stop it.
I guess I guessed right because the red light went out which meant that the video shot was over and then I had to discover what button turned this Hero 7 off completely.
Can the Karma control all those camera functions itself?
All basic dumb stuff with simple solutions that I gradually grew familiar with as I strolled through the casino ala Spealberg ....and then outside along the Strip that was full of every kind of human being imaginable most of whom appeared to be here to see Connor get his ass whipped.
By the way, around 4 PM Saturday afternoon, you could have placed a $100 bet on Connor to win and receive $250 if he did manage to do so.
Now I kinda realize that I woild appreciate the GoPro KARMA if I can control this Hero 7 entirely without the need to actually touch any of the buttons on the camera itself .... even though the KARMA's stable capability is not needed when you shoot with the 7.
I also will have to read more about the verbal commands so that I can avoid any camera movement while searching for and pushing the appropriate buttons.
Pretty damn basic stupidity here, but it is the first time I have used a GoPro since the first week that the Hero2 came on the market.
And I was shooting these Hero 7 shots along the Strip prior to reading the GoPro Hero 7 Manual which I had to download from the GoPro site with the intent to read it thoroughly before my next photo shoot.
MYT1, Still no word to pass on about that looping prblem.
