WALT, That ROLEX with the scratched crystal was purchased about 15 years ago. Would that qualify as an 'older model'?

The owner did a lot of boxing and seldom removed his watch while training so I assume he 'damaged' his Rolex some-how while ....... yada, yada, yada.

Is the word 'crystal' the correct terminoogy for all wrist-watches or just a ROLEX term?

Anyone here ever gotten a military-issued watch while on active duty? That watch looked like it came in a cereal box and  cost $1.95 but it kept good time and glowed in the dark, but I don't recall if it was water-proof.

Anyone still got one!?

Sounds like it would still be sapphire and yes crystal is a generic term.

Back in day you could buy Rolex's at px's but we were not issued watches.  My nephews who served more recently wore G Shocks.
