There are only 2000 American Troops in Syria. It's a drop in the bucket. No they are not playing policemen there. They were killing ISIS and keeping the Russians from taking the ports. There has to be an end game. Syria has about 5 different entities fighting in all different directions. Assad was a brutal dictator but there was relative peace in the country. Striving cities and no war. Assad is out and what do you have? Complete chaos. You have Russians, Assad Troops, the resistance, Kurds, Iranians, ISIS and Turks fighting in every direction over ruble. Russia clear intention is control of the ports.
Trump said many years before even running for office that we shouldn't attempt to be the world's police in these Muslim hell holes. My words not his. In Iraq we would blow up a bridge only to pay money to rebuild it. When the Iraq Army was the largest in the region we took action and wiped out their military. We should have taken off and left the country Instead we attempted to rebuild it thinking a western Democracy would strive. Nope, that's not going to happen in a Muslim country.
ISIS came into power after Obama flooded Syria with 500 million in arms and vehicles hoping the resistance would arm them self and fight Troops loyal to Assad. Nope, the arms ended up in ISIS hands. Obama's People said the 500 million was for training the resistance to fight Assad. No again. It was military hardware.
These third world Muslim countries can't be fixed through politics or war. When necessary they should be beaten and then left to rebuild their own country. Force is the only thing they respect. Taking 2000 Troops in Syria isn't going to change anything. They are not cops. My prediction is that Russia might be encouraged and assist Assad to get back in power.
The biggest thread in the region is not ISIS. Their numbers have been decimated. The biggest threat is Iran. They want to rule the middle east and see taking over Syria and their oil as the first step.
