Nothing is consistent with USADA or Jeff Novitsky.
11 months ago Novitsky stated on the Joe Rogan podcast that the test that detects the long term metabolites was ‘several months’, at the time, and the test a few months after the positive one at 214 came back negative. He presented this information as a reason why he believed Jones to be innocent. However come to December 2018, he’s now suggesting that they can detect it longer than originally stated and that the drug can not only last that long, but stay at the relative same amount (2017: 20-80pc/mL, 2018: 60pc/mL). These are conflicting stories.
Andy Foster also stated to Helwani that USADA have no way to know for sure if this was a new ingestion, they just believe it to be so. In addition to this, Andy Foster also stated that not every test is done to the same level of sophistication. Why are they testing to a worse degree sometimes?
His first test since the USADA violation, on record, was August 2018, so what test was Novitsky referring to after 214? Anyway, why was the first ‘on record’ test for someone that had previously violated the system twice, only in August of the following year?
They are providing information that the drug ‘pulses’, yet this info was not presented before the Californian commission, nor mentioned at all in the past 18 months, with the non-change in the amount the drugs half-life would have to be over 18 months, which by any biological substance standard is obscene/ ridiculous.
In conclusion:
- They don’t know if it’s a old or new consumption
- They for some reason don’t test the same all the time, so some drugs can go undetected and do knowingly as they had for Jones.
- They have changed their outlook on Turinabol in the calendar year
- Jones had no tests until August 2018, yet as soon as fight camp started he popped.
- Jones popped for around the same dosage they believed to be enough to ban him for a 15 months, yet now see it as non-enhancing.
- It’s kept in the fats of the body, but for some reason elongates a half-life to over 18 months?
- This is the first case of this ‘pulsing’ being mentioned and used as reputable defence in MMA. Yet completely ignored the previous cases.
