I pay over 8K a year in property taxes in NJ and that is considered dirt cheap.
thats retarded the 1k rent house is in a good neighborhood alsoYour 8k in property tax would kill any renting potential in your area
I got a crib that rents for a 1000$ and the property tax in2016 to 2018 was 900$Now the tax is 1850$ aint shit u can really do except put in an appealIt obviously means fuck all whos in charge
Doesn't matter what the property rents for. It's based on the assessed value of the property, so apparently that went up. Good luck with an appeal. Looks like a a lot of hoops to jump through."Property taxes in North Carolina are assessed by each county. Property is assessed at 100% of appraised value, which is determined every four years in Forsyth County. The 2017-2018 property tax rate for Forsyth County is $0.7235 per $100 of valuation."http://forsyth.cc/Tax/assets/documents/BER_appeal_form_instr.pdf
Lots of people are moving into NC so the taxes are going up to provide all the services.
BOO FUCKIN HOO my mortgage payment is more then your taxes
Could be worse, I'm paying over $24K and Newsom wants to raise it. Now you know why people are fleeing this shit ran state.
Break that down monthly, and people here who bought a $150-200K home here 5+ years ago (a nice new home here, 3 beds and 2+baths w/finished basement) are paying that amount or less for their mortgage payment depending on down payment made.
Actually, I wanted to make sure I was right about this so I went to bankrate's mortgage calculator. $0 down on a 30yr mortgage for a $200K home is only $1420 monthly. Property taxes would add about another $200-300 per month, so still less with nothing down.
Isn’t he talking 24k in taxes not mortgage?
Yes, my point was if you divided his $24K in taxes (for his sake I hope that's yearly) by 12 months it is $2,000 per month. People here have nice homes like I described, and their mortgage payment is less than that....even if they did no money down. *the time of purchase prices I mentioned would be worth about $50k more now, but their loan is locked in.
