Gotta fix Obumma's mess first, and he made a big one. Clean up in aisle 666 is going to take a while, and cost a lot. He has a long term plan. Supposedly it's supposed to be balanced by 2030. Considering Obumma racked up over $9 Trillion in 8 years, and did/put in place things that are draining us financially that would be a hell of an accomplishment.

Ridiculous, Trump was handed a great economy and Obama was handed a great recession, by your logic his spending was to clean up GW's mess and it was far far far bigger then the one trump inherited, obviously.

Actually there was very slow growth going on when Trump took over. Remember when candidate Trump was saying we should have 3 to 4% growth and Obama mocked by saying "How's he going to do that? Does he have some kind of magic wand?"

I thought it was obvious but I posted the question in an effort to find common ground. What I saw was a very filtered view. No one can honestly say Obama and Trumps first years were remotely the same. Obama came in at a time when the housing market and stock market were suffering. Trump came in when things were on the up trend. I defy anyone to post statistics or facts that say otherwise. I hope those who agreed with Chaos' view take a step back and reconsider their own bias. Who knows, maybe this is the beginning of a new day in Get Big when people are willing to second guess their opinions..

What he doesn’t understand up there in Canada is that the budget is controlled by Congress. The Republicans took over in 2010 and that’s when the economy really started turning around, once they put an end to Obama’s silly programs. Now you could either credit Obama or the Republican Congress for the economy. If you’re going to go with the former, then the economy should’ve tanked once Trump took over and Republicans controlled everything but it didn’t did it? It grew at a much faster rate.

If you’re talking deficits, it’s all make-believe unless you’re going to address the social programs, which are the primary debt drivers. The Democrats won’t touch them because it’s their baby and the Republicans won’t because it’s political suicide.

You're right, no one is touching the social programs because they fear the next election. The problem will never be fixed unless there's a huge economic crash and total restructuring of the current entitlement system.
