Good observation and I tend to move on and ignore things if it becomes an insult fest.
Moreso when you get owned....but we'll move on.
BUT, your point about social media changing EVERYTHING is valid.
Now, like minded people can stay conected and reinforce what they believe and want to hear.
Growing up we all listened to the same news at 6 pm given by "Uncle Walt Cronkite".
It was straight news with few "opinion analysis" by the broadcasters.
A big part of the reason I come on Get Big is to be aware of "other " poitical views.
The like-minded thing is absoltuely correct, and has been statisically proven. While social media SHOULD (and does to an extent) expose us to more options, people do gravitate to those who align with their beliefs and just shout at that the rest. Twitter conservatives follow mostly conservatives, looney left dicksucking green deal soy bearded douchebags follow looney left dicksucking green deal soy bearded douchebags. I don't have a link, but have seen studies referenced.
For me, personally, the fake news generated by the media, and the manipulation of data and content by facebook and google to align with their political views is the most dangerous, since it actually influences the casual observer.
Outside of Covington / the fake "fine people on both sides" / Kavanaugh lies / fake collusion, there were things that got me concerned.
When Mitt Romney was running, there was a headline (paraphrasing here) "Ann Romney wears $1,200 suit to fundraiser". Obviously the title was chosen to portray Romney as rich-elite, out of touch with the unfortunate folks that needed the fundraiser. However, if you read the last line of the article it said "Michelle Obama was also in attendance, wearing "x" by designer "y" totalling $3,500. I bet the majority of the people don't even click to read the article, but damage done.
The other was Google and the Hilary Clinton email thing that's been posted multiple times and still exists. Every other politician you google, with "em" following autofills "email"..with HRC, it's "emoji"...the same HRC that was involved in the biggest political email scandal in our country.
There's plenty others, but folks are being manipulated.
I think a lot of this has to do with social media stilling being in its infancy, with behviors, financial models around it, all still being figured out. It's like giving booze to someone who just got legal - they may go a bit nuts until they figure it out.
