That dude is scary.
Was hanging with Ed Coan in the warmup room of a strongman expo and the Chabot guy was pacing everywhere looking for some poor sap journalist who’d written a disparaging word.
He finally found him. Cornered him. Was telling him to walk with him out the back door so he could, um, “dismantle him”. Several world-class strength athletes, known names, were pleading with Glen to calm down.
Ed and I were like, Whoa.
As I say, scary.
P.S. And, yeah, he was STRONG. Much more strong and powerful than Wheels. Granted, he had an extra 30-odd pounds on Larry, but still. A much more impressive presser. I’m not sure what happened to him. I don’t think he was mixed up with anything good was my impression from the talk back then.

SPRINGFIELD --
A former world-class power lifter from Springfield is facing a felony assault charge after allegedly threatening a homeless man with a knife.
Glen J. Chabot, 48, of Wilbraham, pleaded not guilty in Springfield District Court Tuesday to one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Following his arraignment on Tuesday, Chabot was released on personal recognizance and told to stay away from the alleged victim.
He is due back in court for a pretrial hearing on June 19.
A Springfield native, Chabot began lifting weights as a teenager and emerged as a dominant figure on the national power lifting scene in the late 1990s.
