The era of the muscle magazine peaked with this issue of Ironman Magazine. Hasn't been the same since.

and to think that photo was taking by Artie Zeller in 1972 (47 damn years ago) its even crazier .

This is the primary problem with bodybuilding. Delusional fans are hung up on the past. Non-stop obsession with the past. “The old days were better... blah blah blah blah blah”.

And it’s disgusting when a person has multiple accounts, and each account “chimes in” with their weird memories.

As a small childlet in the 1990's, I have precious memories of walking to Zellers [Canada's version of Wal-Mart, now defunct], WHERE THE LOWEST PRICE WAS THE LAW - EVERYDAY [until the corporation declared bankruptcy in 2013], and buying magazines for $6.99 CAD [$0.29 USD], with Pet Shop Boys singing "Go West" on the store's audio system.

In early 2001, just learning about bodybuilding, and thinking "If Greg Kovacs can gain 23-lb of lean muscle from MuscleTech, I can gain five, damnit!", I remember being shocked and in awe of a FLEX magazine cover of Kevin Levrone, where the featured article was about him dethroning Ronnie Coleman, where Kev [who was listed as 5'9"], said "I will be training for eight or nine months for the 2001 Mr. Olympia - I will not stop!", and thinking that all it took was hard work and a good diet to look like Kevin.

As opposed to that + massive amounts of steroids, growth hormone, and cutting agents - as well as being reborn with Kev's genetics.

Yeah Matt, same here (only 10 years before) : those were the days!
I was convinced it was actually possible to look like Reeves in a couple of years just via hard work and weight gain powder.....

I think they brought IronMan back. But, it apparently only comes out quarterly now and has many INBF/INBA natural competitors.

I saw a copy in Publix about a month ago with former pro wrestler and current INBA Natural Mr. Olympia, Rob Terry, on the cover.

Yes there are new owners, been sold again for the second time within the past few years. I checked it out at the supplemental store I frequent. Boring and sterile magazine

If you see who were the top names in BB in the past ............ opposed to Shawn Rhoden, Heath , etc you might want to dig in the past a bit more .

I wasn't even in the states when I saw this cover on stands around the planet ..... Paris looks like a super hero olympic kind of athlete there you can even see the gold medal on the FLEX logo ... very functional .

Good looks, good hair ,small waist great abs ....things of the past .
