And prostitution ...................let's not forget that . ;D

WoooSHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Are there any hookers that take credit cards or PayPal?  If so, you could get points for getting laid.  Or you could dispute the transaction if you weren't happy with the sex.  I'd love to hear the conversation with the customer service on that one. :D

Can't actually even remember the last time I used cash to buy something. Almost forgotten what notes look like.

Governments do prefer cashless mainly because it’s harder to hide off the books income.

they don't really care what you buy, they really just care how they can tax the s**t out of it and not decrease sales.

I always pay cash. Restaurants, supermarkets, tips, magazine store, usually faster than with a bank card and 100% reliable and privacy guaranteed

I wait outside Wal Mart's for people to throw away their cash receipts.  I dig them out of the trash, return the next day and steal that item, then come back the third day and return it for store credit, which I then sell the gift card refund on e-bay to the highest bidder.  This is how I fund my schmoe wrestling sessions, cause those Awesome Amazons only take large bills, cash.  This, this is what I do.  Gotta go, someone's knocking on my Motel room door.

I use cash for some things.  I appreciate a degree of privacy in some of my transactions.  Weapons, drugs, dildos*, Russian prostitutes.

Hahaha!

For some reason (maybe your user name) that triggered a Rambo-esque mini-montage of someone prepping for the evening's mission...

...jump-cut shots of weaponry being strapped on...
...drugs being stashed in a tactical vest...
...dildos* in special pockets...
...ending with a knock at the hotel room door where the h00kers open the door...

*Yeah, your use of of the plural was duly noted  ;D

I keep my spending/expenses separate

-yes I use cash for day to day purchases (groceries, coffee, lunch, gas, in person purchases, and always keep cash on me)
-Amex for work expenses
-visa for online purchases and of recurring expenses (gym memberships)

I have the mobile methods like Apple Pay, Venmo and paypal if i need to use those - but not my preference.

There are a bunch of places in NYC that don't even take cash anymore, but I don't really like the march towards all electronic transactions. It makes it too easy to underestimate how much I am spending. I'll typically have a soft limit when I'm paying in cash for daily items, mainly because I'm thinking I don't want to spend everything on me. Just earlier this week, I stopped in Duane Reade  on my way home just to get some shaving stuff, but I only had like $12 on me, so I used apple pay. Since I wasn't trying to stick to the cash I had on me, I picked up some other stuff and ended up spending about $60.

Cash can be awesome these days when you are in a place with long ass lines and they open a cash only register so you can cut to the front because 85% of the line is living on credit lines.

liquidity rules.   credit cards are designed to suck the financial future out of you, that's why they go after college students.  money talks, credit walks

This is why you develop fiscal discipline.  With discipline credit cards are way better because you get cash back, can't be robbed of your money and if you pay off the debt every month you don't pay any interest.  Plus having a good credit score allows you better interest rates on homes, cars, business loans and any other loan you might need to get.

Cash is "Legal Tender" and some lawyers say retailers must accept it...they say it will go to the Supreme Court eventually.

Always have to carry cash in case I travel to southern Maryland because of the tolls, which are about $4.00 one way. Why the state hasn't invented a way for toll operators to take debit cards is beyond my comprehension.
