Primed trained athlete's can have a resting heart beat (RHB) of 40 beats per minutes  (even rare not athletic individuals). The average heart beat is somewhere between 60 to 100. The resting mean average is around 72. Not generally confirmed yet, but a slower heart beat may indicated a longer life span. Other species suggest this.

Science is finding that the Neanderthal was more advanced that thought.  As Griffith said, the Neanderthal had a larger brain pan (skull), lighter skin/hair with shorter limbs, thicker bone and muscle mass. They buried their dead (most always a clue to the advancement of a culture) and followed rituals.  This is not just from DNA finding, but also current dig's of burial and area sites.

There may have been dozens of races that thrived once and now have vanished over the estimated million to a million and a half years that the earth was  known to exist at a more living friendly space.  (actually more like near 3 million years, but who's counting). Modern man still may carry a nano measure of their DNA/RNA blueprint in the body.

The out of Africa idea that all humans started there is now being dis-proven. Even in the America's and Asia Minor, finding has suggest humans may have developed a much early life form and culture..

I went to the Natural History Museum in Vienna and saw the little Venus Sculpture. It’s crazy that it was carved 30,000 years ago right there in Mitteleuropa.

Maybe, but tribalism did. Not all tribes get on well with each other. In a sense, a form of racism has been around since the dawn of time.

Prudence , small family groups (with kidnap females) existed , tribe is much larger mob.

Aussie Abos until 1920 existed as a family groups to 10 members , New Guineas (far more intelligent than Abos) lived in tribes, just like American Indians.

Interestingly, Abos would never kill females from other group , but young boys  :-\

If 1 Abo bro get married, another bro can bonk his wife 2  ;D (welcome to the 21st century  :P)

Iron Cross, I wonder how Getbig member Prudence feels about you calling me by his/her handle? Not that it matters much, and certainly not to me. The name actually suits me because I consider myself to be prudent.  ;)

With regards to tribes, what do you think about Mormon's who practice polygamy? How do you feel about Mormon fundamentalist who kick their sons out because they see them as competition?

LDS Church president Brigham Young had 51 wives, and 56 children by 16 of those wives. LDS Church apostle Heber C. Kimball had 43 wives, and had 65 children by 17 of those wives.

"Lost boys" is a term used for young men who have been excommunicated or pressured to leave polygamous Mormon fundamentalist groups such as the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS). They are alleged to be pressured to leave by adult men to reduce competition for wives within such sects, usually when they are between the ages of 13 and 21.

You can download your DNA to a file and then send that file to
other sites who then give you their results.

Yup, the olive complexion is a mystery. There must be at least one ancestor who had it. I used to think it came from my maternal grandmother's side because she was French. Although Brittany, where she was born, is a province in France, it was settled by the British.

Well, the thing is there is a lot of Roman DNA in the UK from occupation but it is too old to parse out. Still think you just had a tan most of your life and skin tone darkened over time, haha.

Exactly, even different tribes of Neanders, or Injuns (that were basically the same people?) fought eachother

Like the Ponca VS the Sioux, Crows VS the Blackfoot, the Lakota vs the Pawnee etc

Amerindians

Just like the Bloodied VS the Crippleds, different Mexican druggangs fighting in Mojito etc

if it ain't tribe, it's religion / belief / faith / belonging.

Sunni VS the Shia etc

Glee fanboard VS Getbig

Powerlifters VS Crossfit

Flat earthers VS Reality

Milkman  ;)

Remembering my mom and my grandmother, I must admit that the proverbial "Milkman" is a possibility. My mom had an olive complexion, but her twin sisters (red heads with freckles) and her brother did not. Hmm? Maybe granny got busy while gramps was away. ;D I look a lot like my father, so that kind of lets my mom off the hook.

This is also a real possibility. When I was an infant, my mom and I lived on Nantucket in the summers. Most of my later childhood years were spent at State Beach in Santa Monica, CA or laying around the pool at our house in Encino, CA.

Right now, I'm working on getting a pale as possible. It used to be fun to lay out in the sun, now-a-days it is boring. I've even stopped tanning in he tanning beds, preferring to spend that time doing red light therapy.

I think there are many reasons to have an interest in one's heritage. How this relates to people who are concerned with their IQ isn't immediately clear to me. Knowing about one's ancestors doesn't change who we are or make us any better than anyone else regardless of their heritage.
