Of course these guys are all on drugs so it's unrealistic to expect most folks in their 50s to look like that.

It's unrealistic to expect to look like Coach unless you are taking his drug regimen, which from previous posts I have read on this board, is sizable.

Coach, you are 5'9" and weigh 230 or something?  That's very heavy for your height.  Carrying a heavy bodyweight is not healthy.  It's a strain on your heart.

If Coach wants to risk his health it's his own business as far as I'm concerned.  You have to make choices about how you want to live.

The piper will be paid at some point however.  He did have a mini-stroke last year or whatever.

Bodybuilding as presented today is not realistic unless you are on the drug train.

IroNat, this is a very good post and even though I do what I do I’m not going to disagree with you. People on here know that I’m one of the few open about my use this is what I chose to do in the safest way possible. Bodybuilding as presented at anytime over the years has not been realistic unless you are on the “drug train”, it’s part of the game, it’s really a part of almost any game.

I don’t do this as a hobby and if you follow me on any of my social media platforms (no, I’m not asking you to follow) you’ll know this is my way of life. I eat, sleep, train and make my living from bodybuilding (a good living). Now, maybe I’m defending this a little by saying I can think of a thousand other ways of cutting my life short other than bodybuilding but I suspect this would be futile discussion.

But I’ve said many times, don’t assume I’m on a sizable of gear, I’m not but know one will believe that. Also, don’t believe everything you read about someone else’s cycle that’s been viral on the internet about some crazy amounts, 95% of it is complete bullshit, I’m not saying there’s bodybuilders out there that haven’t done this, those would be the ones wit serious health problems or dead.

Yes, at 5’6 and weighed in at 228 today I do understand that’s considered big and that’s my choice. My BP is normal, blood tests come back within normal range, no blockages, etc. I attribute this too Training everyday, cardio 3-4 days week (soon to be bumped up to 5) and I do for the most part eat clean. No, my weight, this type of training won’t go on forever, I get that but for about the next year or so, this is it.

One does not need drugs to be big and muscular.

Had my blood work done a about 6 weeks after the show and everything was good. Take BP almost every day and averaging about 140/60. Resting HR is a little high when I wake up but I’m attributing it to being so fucking hot in my house at that it makes it hard to sleep. We don’t have air conditioning being on the beach. On that note, whoever said you don’t need air conditioning if you live on the beach should be slapped. It’s miserable in September

No air conditioning?  In the US of A?  WTF?  Or have you moved to a turd world shiitte hole?

I don't think a 50 year should be fat, out of shape and unhealthy, but give me a break not everyone wants to diet and train to look like a bodybuilder.

Most of the homes where I live do not have air conditioning because we are literally on the beach

I’ve always said if you dropped weight in the 170’s/180’s range, you’ll look a lot better

Haven’t been 170 since high school. That would defeat the purpose of bodybuilding

I'm not even interested in that. I think you deserve props for what you've done not only at your age, but what others much younger can only hope to achieve.

Decent of you
Well said.

Of course some of these guys are on drugs so it's unrealistic to expect most folks in their 50s to look like that.

Some of them look like crap too, at least in the legs.

It's unrealistic to expect to look like Coach unless you are taking his drug regimen, which from previous posts I have read on this board, is sizable.

Nattys don't look so old and shriveled. Gear ages you a lot.

Haven’t been 170 since high school. That would defeat the purpose of bodybuilding

But the purpose is for longevity and overall health at your height and age, isn’t that what bbing is about as well?

5’6 single digit bf levels at 170’s or 180’s is still bigger than the general population, take a look at Tito and Stan mcquay, both 5’6

I think you are just stubborn

There’s a few guys I work out with who are 5’11/6 ft and they look phenomenal at 185/190 single digit bf levels
