Do you tend to stick to training programs?
« on: October 04, 2019, 08:31:58 AM »
I've tried but I get bored and never see them through.  Whether its 5x5 or a cutting program, what ever.
What I tend to do is rather than stick to a pre planned program, each time I m heading for the gym I form my battle plan.
And when I get there I ATTACK!!

No I know the body parts I go by feeling I don't stick to reps or sets and every week I change the order of my exercises

Fuck training programmes. Real bodybuilders improvise, adapt and overcome. We know that no plan survives the first contact. When I arrive at the gym, I'm armed with nothing but my weightlifting gloves and a MIGHTY FURY! Only thing I do adhere to is a rigid policy of muscle confusion. Some days I'll tell myself it's leg day then immediately jump on the lat pulldown machine. Other days I'll just drive all the way to the gym, then immediately turn around and go back home. My physique speaks for itself.

I stick to a general plan with certain exercises but often vary sets, reps, etc.

Some days I feel like crap so I change it up.

Think there's something funny about calluses, son? Maybe you've never fingered a girl, but I finger shitloads of them and I can tell you firsthand that a callused digit can cause a pubic fire to break out quicker than you break out in sweats when you realize you've broken your 100 ft-from-a-school boundary.

My training is always instinctual. A lot of the same basic movements, let’s face it building muscle isn’t rocket science.

Add weight method, 8,8,6,6,6 Basic muscle groups. 2-3X a week. Automatically takes into account bad or fatigued days because you don't go as high in weight.

Every couple months I take a week off to get the enthusiasm back.

Changing up routines has never done anything for me. Did all the periodization schemes, "muscle confusion" crap, etc. This is the best approach I have found that works long term.

Take a week or 2 off and jump on Starting Strength Novice and FOLLOW THE PROGRAM EXACTLY AS WRITTEN.  Don't add or subtract exercises or change the reps. Do the fucking program. You will thank me in 6 months.

I do something different everyday but the order of bodyparts remains the same.

I also train as heavy as I can for the reps I`m gunning for and add in a lot of intensity techniques.

Hardly any rest between sets except for legs which is till kept to a bare minimum until I`m ALMOST recovered.

I stick to my own. Nobody has what I want. It's either all barbell squats and oats or all jungle gym calisthenics or vegan Om chanting in spandex.

I have extremely calloused hands, particularly the right from trowel work. Chicks dig it.

A man should have a man's hands. Chicks don't dig feminine soft hands on a man.  Men work with their hands and if they don't they work out and have man's hands. Take off the gloves and man up.
